Hi anybody had any experience of this way of operating.
Not personally, but when the Rep and DSM went on a tour of an office out of the area to check on the system. It wasn't working, D2D's couldn't be placed in the fitting due to 2 or 3 calls per slot, plus the sheer numbers of calls on the fitting, and it wasted more time tying up than it saved in prep. Apparently the DSM's have been targeted with getting at least one office in their area onto these. Our DSM went a little pale at the thought of it.

Not experienced this in our office yet and hopefully never will. Double slots is bad enough I just can’t imagine the horror of dealing with 5 door to doors in triple slots. Yet another idea thought up by a stupid arsehole high up that has never done a delivery in their life.

Every single office where they have suggested this has said it won't work, and it doesn't, yet they still keep doing it.
You'll have no space for packets above the frame, with 2 loops being given the space that 1 used to give.

The way it has been explained to our unit is too condense all calls into double slots, therefore freeing up extra space on your frame for parcels and packets.

Frame with 4 rows

Rows 1 + 2 packets and pacels
Rows 3 + 4 letters

Equal amount of D2D's done every day even if no mail in that slot.

We have a number of frames in our office 2 base units and 3 or 4 wings, they generally have 1 call per slot but you do plenty of walking while you prep the walk. :nana

To reduce the amount of space taken up by frames in a DO.
The floorplan I have seen for our DO would free up enough space to move another (smallish) DO under the same roof.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Most offices are still set up with parcels as an afterthought.
That's the reason behind space optimisation.
It's sad to say but the days of single day overflowing RM2000 frames are behind us.

That's what they told us before it was done.....for example a frame with 6 wings that was condensed into only 5 wings would keep the empty wing to store packets. The reality is that they removed the redundant wings from condensed frames and so packet space was reduced from 6 top shelves to 5. In these days of Covid 19 packet levels, most of the so-called freed-up space by this move is ocurrently occupied by trays-full, or stacks, of packets on the floor around the bottom of the frames.

A base and 6 is for both walks, it is chaos, packets on top, packets on the floor. It doesn't work.

We don't have this in our office yet but talks of getting it. A question for those who do - when one person is tieing up, what is the second person supposed to do exactly?
