Not really unimaginable. Its just the parcel driver could take the parcel for 3 to 4 duties. Their duty then split between 3 or 4. You should be able to calculate how many they could do by looking at the figures from the parcel only Saturdays. I'm sure RM know.
I never said unimaginable, I said unmanageable.

Theres no chance someone could deliver two frames of mail safely in their time.
I deliver parcels for 6 duties on a dedicated parcel duty 1300-1600. Not enough time usually.

It's not shown on the B/W photo but I believe on later versions there used to be a long thin extension to the template, with an upturned end. The length of the template plus the extension was the Max Length. :thumbup

One of our "Old Contemptibles" was found lobbing the template in the skip (after he'd cut the chain securing it) because he didn't like the idea of taking ANY of his correctly sorted parcels! :arrrghhh We work with Morons! :cuppa
Like all Wage Slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with! (Stephen Vizinczey.)

The only parcel size template in MCs these days is the one for what can be sorted by a PSM, that's a very big one, probably a good bit bigger than a shoebox. I wonder if the new parcel duties in DOs will be just parcels that have been sorted on a PSM, but that would require MCs that have got PSMs to act as sorting hubs. It's probably going to be at least a year before all the big parcel hubs are built and online, I don't think the southern one either has a confirmed location, or if it does have a confirmed location, probably doesn't yet have planning permisison

Flat pack? I've never seen made up dining chairs going through either our large normal or large Tracked

I've had a coffee table before and an adult size bike both wrapped in brown paper.
I had a microwave last week and I've had a few flat screen TVs lately.

I’ve not taken anything bigger than a shoebox for over a year & two loops if I can get away with it.

One idea being floated is on a double duty, the walker will take the letters/flats for both frames which will then be merged into one frame and all above letterbox size packets/parcels will be done by a parcel duty person with extra large parcels going to Parcelforce.
Parcel duty will grow as we push the service and letters are expected to fall off gradually over time.
I sort of see it could work as delivering only letters is quick, but the walks would be pretty long.
Yeah that’s right. Make them walk 25 miles a day. They should be fine with it. Dear me.

I had a Child’s car seat this week. Took up about a quarter of the Peugeot Expert I was using. Items like that were virtually unheard of before the pandemic, at least in my experience. Maybe once in a blue moon.
I just do not understand as to why we are delivering stuff that size when there’s a dedicated part of the business for large parcels.
Ironically, like a few have pointed out before, I rarely ever see parcelforce vans - perhaps twice a week at best.

I have had a couple of them since Xmas, they are dam heavy with the base included. Also have delivered a garden swing (flat packed) a pair of step ladders and yesterday a garden shovel which was declared as weighing 1g.

It varies as to how often we get them through, you might get the odd shift where you get 2 or 3 come through, or you might go for days without seeing any. I never yet had a shift where two or more have gone to the same DO

It's a maximum weight of 30Kg for Tracked.

I'm guessing that RM are ignoring the size limits as they don't want to lose customers to rival couriers

Not all Parcel Force Delivery Vans are Red , our local driver uses a White Van , with a High Viz Vest folded on the dash board displaying" Parcel Force"
