Have you ever been caught for this though?poisonpostie wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 17:36Try to have a phone with you. as i just take pictures of barcodes and when you get back they will mostly scan off your phone .if they don't just manually put the numbers into a scanner, writing down all the barcode numbers is mind numbing as we now scan so much,

Re: PDA issues
Most of my PDA problems used to caused by crap batteries (so it's been solved by taking a spareclashcityrocker wrote: ↑26 Feb 2021, 16:47Even better.
Write down the 13 digit barcodes on Tracked/signed for/Special Delivery and give the list to someone else who does know how to manually enter them.
I used to do as you suggest .... on return to the DO I'd ask the DOM if he wanted to pay me the 15-25 mins overtime to input them all ... or would he like to do them? He used to give them to the guy who mans the locker for the afternoon ..... and make him do them!

Re: PDA issues
You wont get caught as you are doing something right if your scanner goes down, try explaining to your manager that you have just posted thirty items through doors without being scanned (it doesn't go down well)

Re: PDA issues
They are just bad. It wasn't even raining much today and I had an interesting fault developed by my PDA. It would be very slow to load barcode details once scanned but it went through eventually. When I scanned my next delivery to a safe place and went on to choose place it would kick me out. I got the pop up window saying (outdoor stopped working) I could scan as delivered to customer but not to a safe place. I tried to reboot it and it took forever to load back up. I was about to go back to the office to swap pda.
