Christmas Card Arrives A Century Late

A Christmas card of Santa and a young girl has arrived at its destination in the US - 93 years after it was sent

The postcard was dated December 23, 1914, and addressed to Ethel Martin in Oberlin, Kansas, apparently from her cousins in Nebraska.

Ms Martin is now deceased, but the Oberlin post office said it wanted a relative to have the card.

The almost century-old relic is now in the hands of Bernice Martin, her sister-in-law.

She said she believed the card had been found somewhere in Illinois and then passed on to the post office.

It was placed inside another envelope with modern postage for the trip to Oberlin.

The one-cent stamp of the early 20th century would not have covered it, Ms Martin said.

"We don't know much about it. But wherever they kept it, it was in perfect shape," she added.

Oberlin Postmaster Steve Schultz said: "It's surprising that it never got thrown away.

"How someone found it, I don't know."

Methinks, this is the level of service that the gruesome twosome are striving for.
But, for a modest charge, the option of a next 50 years delivery will be available for customers descendents.
