Yes you can. With Tracked, Recorded and Special delivery items you can still scan the main 2D barcode!
Tracking history will then prove that the parcel has been delivered back to the sender (with the GPS co-ordinates)!

Hope this helps! :thumbup

Yes, true (you mean scan the 1D barcodes, though). It's just some of those examples in the photos would have only had a 2D barcode, that has been obliterated, and no 1D barcode to use instead.

Barcodes that start with two letters, then nine numbers, followed by country code (GB) that can still be scanned. examples:

The red stickers that say dear customer etc should only be used if correct postal address has been put on said letter or parcel. just to remind the sender that their item has been delayed due to wrong postcode being used. the other red sticker is usually used for dead mail.

Yes I did say for incorrectly addressed items!
That's when to use a "Dear customer" label to cover the QR code if it has the wrong Postcode/Post town!

If the postcode is wrong the PSM doesn't know that and will keep sending it to the wrong delivery office, hence why you have to cover the QR code, so the PSM will reject the item for manual sorting , then hopefully it should be forwarded to the correct delivery office!

Its same for redirections & RTS items. The PSM goes on the QR code which would kept sending it to the original address, which is why you should cover the QR code!

When placing a redirection label on a mech letter, cross both the orange barcodes out. The iLSMs (don't know about IMPs) seem to read the 2D barcode on the redirection label but CSS machines don't and will go by the orange barcode

While we're all getting OCD about Stickers ...... How's about NOT putting the Redirection Labels over the customers NAME? :hmmmm

It used to be taught years ago, but I realise nobody gets any training nowadays. When you've got several redirections to, and from an address it's just a pain trying to peel of labels to check Surnames. :no no

Same goes for the lazy bastards that can't be bothered to put all the redirections into a bag and just put elastic bands around the lot! :arrrghhh Yes I know RM are getting tight and some DOs can't get Redirection Bags.... in that case just use loads of individual stickers (you can re-order them) :cuppa

I agree with you on the redirection labels, lazy and dumb! :thumbup

All of this is down to lack of awareness and training posties on using the correct labels, but some workplace coaches don't even know the correct way to do these methods. :arrrghhh
It impacts quality further down the line, not to mention it look unprofessional to customers! :d'oh!

In my 22 years of RM and working in 2 DO's I have never seen a pink sticker!
FYI. This is what the pink labels look like, to be used on international RTS items. Ask your manager to order some for from delivery office.
