Re: Backdated Pay for All?
Weirdly people that left the business before the union endorsed "share in success" shafting all got paid a lump sum for their shares.
I can't see how people that worked in the 7/8 months up to dec 18th aren't allowed the back pay tbh. I would go the legal route if it was me especially as it's almost common knowledge that Rm never wins a case.

People left in the business have had a payment each Christmas since to make up for share in success. No?cobrakai wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021, 12:25Weirdly people that left the business before the union endorsed "share in success" shafting all got paid a lump sum for their shares.

RM stopped the strike a year or so ago by going to court!

They all got 1500. It would take 15 years for a ft employee to get that.Jefferson Starfish wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021, 12:36People left in the business have had a payment each Christmas since to make up for share in success. You can't compare a national strike ballot court case to a industrial tribunal at all (as well you know). I have known RM to lose just be not bothering to turn up.

Re: Backdated Pay for All?
I am one of the few who has lost out because of exact dates. I left on the 11th Dec and this aggreement was on the 18th.Jefferson Starfish wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021, 12:09I don't know whether back pay has been paid out to those who've left the business in previous agreements.
But if it hasn't in the past and it has this time, then overall that's better. Except for the few that have lost out due to exact dates.
Stephen500, you sound like a grown man throwing his toys out the pram to me!![]()
Toys out of the pram I don't think so.
I am now retired at 60, don't plan to work again, have a good pension and a very good lump sum + £750 to come at the end of the month "pension advice money" and long service gift vouchers on their way for £200.
The money wasn't the problem, personally I don't need £367. It was the principle of our union being a union for all its members not just a selective few.
Not very socialist.
Oh and remember life isn't just about me. I can afford to lose this, many who have left can't, they might be on universal credit or even small pensions.

Will be interesting to see what happens when RM lose the tribunal case about holiday pay.
How far back in time will they be forced to pay for that?

Tell that to those who’ve had to retire through Ill health and have limited prospects of getting a job again. Rm with the endorsement of the cwu have robbed thousands of their pay which was due last April and was seriously delayed because of the inability of the negotiators to reach an agreement.Jefferson Starfish wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021, 13:40Principles are great, but you still sound like a kid not getting his own way to me. Re: Backdated Pay for All?
Well done and that is the point I was making, I am well sorted. I have a large lump sum, great pension, £750 pension advice money and £200 long service. But the people you talk about were the real ones in need and they have been forgotten.deltaforce wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021, 16:34Tell that to those who’ve had to retire through Ill health and have limited prospects of getting a job again. I can't understand the hold up, its a court judgment with legal precedent so surely they should have realized they are on a hiding to nothing.yellowbelly wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021, 16:08Will be interesting to see what happens when RM lose the tribunal case about holiday pay.

Civil judgements are based on case law and interpretation.cobrakai wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021, 17:38I can't understand the hold up, its a court judgment with legal precedent so surely they should have realized they are on a hiding to nothing.yellowbelly wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021, 16:08Will be interesting to see what happens when RM lose the tribunal case about holiday pay.

Royal Mail believe that their particular circumstances aren't covered by existing case law.
All it takes is one case and one helpful judge to change the whole dynamic.
Then there's the Brexit factor...
