Soon lots of us are going to get their jab
Are RM going to give us time off or make us go on our days off or on a Sunday?
Does the NHS tell you the time and date or do you have to book yourself?
You book the date and time yourself at the vaccination centre of your choosing; they're typically open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week, so there really should be no need to book time off.
If your docs contact you with a time and it's not convenient then change it to a time that suits.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
you will be given a time and date not your choice
there are side affects which can knock you for a day with flu symptoms etc
Behave ffs

Just had the invite letter my self. You get a choice of venue according to postcode and a choice of time and day. I know loads of people who’ve had vaccine and none have had side effects.
This post reminds me of certain people at our place who apparently can never manage to get a doctor/hospital/anything appointment that is outside of working hours
they phoned me on me mobile yesterday and asked if i would accept tomorrow (Wed 17th) at a local hub, so i accepted. doing it in work time at 10am. just going to use my break time. not a problem for me. got to sit around for 15mins after you have it. so i should only be away from graft for half an hour/40 mins. Dom just said ok...fine by him.

Divisional Reps have received reports that RM Refusing time off for vaccination appointments insisting that staff use Annual or Unpaid Leave!
PEC member Bobby Weatherall raised the matter with RM and received this response ;
“Where possible, colleagues should try to arrange appointments to receive the vaccine outside of working hours; though we do understand this may not be possible. Due to the exceptional circumstances of this pandemic and the importance to both our colleagues and Royal Mail in them receiving the vaccine, managers should support employees to attend their vaccination appointment. This may mean providing time off for colleagues to attend appointments during working hours.”
Q. Assuming Medical Facilities give you the appointment time & date , and this clashes with your shift, how will RM deal with this situation. Would Royal Mail class as unpaid the time off to attend or would RM request, if it were possible, you arrange an appointment on an alternative day at an out of work time.
A. The decision is that the current guidance for medical appointments will apply, employees will be expected to book the vaccination outside of working hours if they are unable to arrange this it would be a change of rest day/ hours, unpaid special leave or annual leave

So we have to work all through this pandemic then have to use our holidays to get the vaccine! seeing as I haven't had any sick for years I might need a week off soon, cough cough
Will time off be granted to attend for vaccine appointments?

I've been shielding, again, since January and I'm due to start back on Monday. I got my letter yesterday with a time & date, no choice, and ... it's on Monday at 17.10 at a venue 30 minutes from work but 5 minutes from home. I called the work to ask what happens and quick as a flash I was told to put in a lieu day.
Just to counterbalance your "no side effects" comment, after my first jab I was pretty fatigued, to the point I could barely stay awake for any more than 2 hours before needing to lie down. My next door neighbours had their 2nd vaccine last week. She was fine whereas he was pretty knackered for the week. They're not alone.
I can guarantee the whole place will be just as before, which is to say, very unsafe.
