I am a deferred member of plan c and no longer work for RM.
Am I correct in saying that in the event of my death the pension fund will still pay out a lump sum to my named beneficiary. If so does anyone know what the calculation method is for this payment? Eg is it “x” times annual pension.
Maybe one for Robert or anyone else if they know.
Thanks all.

Re: Death Benefits when not in Service.
The rules are different depending on whether a member is still in service, deferred or a RM pensioner.
I don't know anymore than what's on the RMPP website:
https://www.royalmailpensionplan.co.uk/ ... er-you-die
It's probably worth noting that death benefit nomination forms need to be filled in for both RMSPS and RMPP benefits.
Forms can be found on both their websites.
