No one gives a monkeys about the job now. Not done for years. I will ask my 5 year old grand daughter which way I voted. She filled it in for me and posted it

Re: Ballot result?
I am totally ashamed of my "colleagues"who couldn't be bothered to vote in this critical vote. It has been unbelievably easy to vote before now - just place an X in a box, put the paper into a pre-paid envelope and pop it into a postbox (or in most cases the forwards bag in the DO). Even a young child could do that without effort. But this time we had the extra option of voting online - which I did - which was even easier as you didn't even have the worry of remembering to post it. The CWU could not have made it easier and more simple for us.
No doubt a majority of the non voters were either making a totally pointless stand against the substance of the deal and thought that not voting would help the no cause. It did not.
No doubt also that this same majority are the same people who constantly go on here or social media slagging RM off for every move they make but won't grow a pair and leave the company for the wonderful greener grasses that are apparently out there. The realists amongst us know that is not the case in the current climate.
This same minority will stay with RM, slag off everything about it at the same time as accepting all the pay rises, decent terms etc that go with it.
Those who did not vote but will happily accept everything and never leave should hang their heads in shame. You disgust me and the vast majority of decent colleagues.

I've been a postman for 34 years, i've never seen anybody been bullied. I've worked under 4 managers in that time and never had a problem. I admit i work in a small rural office and probably things are different in a big office, but i can honestly say it's been a good atmosphere to work in all the time i've been thrre.Cucumber wrote: ↑03 Feb 2021, 19:00What's Royal Mails past record in managing change?Kesknight wrote: ↑03 Feb 2021, 18:38I can't see what people have to complain about. You just start on your time and finish on your time. Take your meal break and just do your job at a normal pace, if you can't complete in the time just cut off. Nobody can make you work over your time if you don't want to.
This whole modernisation program will be poorly planned, executed and managed. A recipe for the continuation and increase in 'the culture' of intimidation and bullying to get the office cleared each day.

You don't need to fight over anything, you've got your working hours so just stick to them. Nobody can say anything to you, you're in your rights you would win everytime.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑03 Feb 2021, 19:04Not everyone wants to go to work and have to fight over workload every day.Kesknight wrote: ↑03 Feb 2021, 18:38I can't see what people have to complain about. Apathy is the biggest danger to democracy.
You either vote yes or no you have the right to complain.
If you don't vote you have no such right and must put up with the result your complacency.

Crazy.
This 48% who didn't vote. Why are you paying £3.44 a week to be in a union? I'm absolutely baffled!

Perhaps if i had filmed myself putting a cross in the 'no' box Royal Mail would have cried off to the High Court again to get the ballot stopped.....

To me, it's crazier that some of those people who voted No to this deal and don't like the result are leaving the Union.
I voted No, but can't see the logic of leaving, the more people who disagree with the Union and leave, the easier it becomes for the Union/Royal Mail to get things through you disagree with.

So you are saying that managers won't pressurise you in such a way not to break the rules.Kesknight wrote: ↑04 Feb 2021, 10:00You don't need to fight over anything, you've got your working hours so just stick to them. Its never easy to say no, especially in a work environment and its certainly not stress-free. Okay, you are not fighting, but it would be naive to think sticking to your guns is easy.

I don't see the problem. What company gives you free money for nothing in return. The answer is no company. Been in the job 13 years. Like any job you go into, you work, end of .I have adapted to the changes through the years as I want to keep my job, and I do enjoy it .

Re: Ballot result?
I do see why they're leaving. I left under IHR in October. I thank the Union members from years ago who got me the IHR deal that I got. I was a Union member from the day I started work in 1974 and have been a Union Rep 4 times, including twice at Royal Mail and during the strikes in 2009. I even kept up my membership of the old EEPTU when I was self employed for nine years.TrueBlueTerrier wrote: ↑04 Feb 2021, 14:16

I left the union about two years ago after yet another discussion with the Area rep who then went to my manager to complain about my attitude! This was after seeing a girl crying because she'd have to come off the duty she'd done for years and being told about it by the f***ing area rep! He wasn't happy when I told him it was the managers job! She didn't come off her duty after I'd put them straight.
I came to the conclusion, like a lot of my colleagues, that the Union reps above local rep are only in it for the cushy beat. The final straw for me was seeing Terry' Whatsisface having his son working for the CWU as well. There's just so much I don't know where to start. Shafting the part timers on D2D/del supp also pissed me off.
And while I haven't followed this deal very closely it looks like yet another dogs dinner. An agreement where hardly anything is agreed?
I didn't willingly become a non Union member but I happily became a non CWU member.
