Awful turnout considering the online option that took less than 2mins.

As many expected money talks, problem is everyday basic living is increasing at a faster rate and the hoops that we have to jump through for it.

Disappointing result, especially given how many were unhappy enough to vote for strikes in 2019, but it is what it is... Bring on the worsening T&Cs and I suspect a lot of even more unhappy OPGs as these changes hit home.

The feeling I got from talking to members was that it was not a very satisfactory agreement but there was no confidence that a better deal would be secured even if the talks had gone on another 2 years, there was an overall mistrust at the overselling by the union.

Most of them felt the agreement would be accepted comfortably but so no good reason to actively endorse it.
that was the general feeling in our office.....we wouldn't get anything better. the hierarchy always seem to oversell a deal. if a deal is good enough they shouldn't need to sell it, so we must get unsatisfactory deals all the time. in the ''deal of the century'' back in 2010 the area rep and branch secretary were at ours selling the pile of shite. they were asked ''what if its a ''NO'' vote? .....their reply was '' it won't be,...it WILL be a yes. we've had the same patter this time as well.

Yet another resounding resut for our Glorious Union Executive.

f**k everthing up but if there is an offer of money...That was earned and due to be payed years ago. " Well, they'll go for it, won't they?"
Hurrah !

All's good on shop floor.

Sums up the idiots in this job. If the job goes down the pan you won’t be getting VR. You’ll get the basic redundancy you’re entitled to which will be F all. Wait and see how long that lasts while looking for another job. Grow up!

I didn't mean that the job goes totally s**t.

I meant hopefully there will be major changes and VR is on offer.

With an aggressive response like that, ARE YOU A REP BY ANY CHANCE?

Probably many believed that it wasn't worth bothering to vote with the 24 "unknowns"

Well if that's the case they are idiots! If the 24 "unknowns" was such an issue to people they should have voted no. I did

I don’t know what to think of the result. The yes % was expected, the total turnout unbelievable.

For a few years now I’ve moaned about being part time and yearned to be made full time, I’ll see what the revisions and practices are like first but if it’s really bad then perhaps ‘only’ having a 5 hour a day contract will be a good thing. They can change what they want, add as many streets as they like, change working practices, have me doing star jumps if they so wish...I’ll do whatever they say then head home, I’ll only have to work 5 hours which soon flys by then I’ll head home.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

So the job in deliveries is set to get worse and will continue to do so in any future agreement as long as there is a carrot dangled in front of the members.
