Predict the outcome of the vote

Post by Zicomurphy »

Not asking how you intend to vote but what you think the outcome of the vote will be.

I think it will be a disappointingly low turn out but 71.2 per cent of those who vote will vote to accept the deal.

It will be a massive yes vote as it always is . Once the union recommends it they are basically saying this is as good as it gets.

The outcome of the vote will be a couple of weeks of back slapping, a month of pretending that we're all on the same page then 18 months of rapidly deteriorating relationships before Terry pops up and asks us to "Rise Up" again.

80/90% yes. But that should be taken as the members accepting that the CWU negotiating team are unable to get a better deal, rather than it being a good deal on offer.

I think the timescales are up for debate.
I would go with one hour of backslapping, 4 hours of pretending we are on the same page and then 18 hours of rapidly deteriorating relationships before the deal is binned (I mean filed away next to the 4 pillows)
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

i keep hearing this As good as it gets ??
Are any of you on here aware of the profit estimate for the last quarter of 2020 £125 million re some city friends of mine-conservative figure also !!
Add first quarter of this year again £100 million estimate re lockdown will continue through February and probably into March-no lket up in parcel quantities - therefore giving us much larger profit, than normal years
1% best we can hope for ????????????
Have a look at the bonuses to be paid out to hierachy re those figures-if achieved and they will be
No matter how many out of work/lost their jobs re Covid etc
National Average Wage in UK is STILL Just over £25, 000 per annum
We well short of that with 2.7 and 1% deals and never worked harder in our entire lives re this job, which will no doubt come at a cost to our future health ??
Company was listed in National Fiscal Studies report last March as having cash assets of £800 million in one acccount and 300 milllion in another ?
Even allowing for £40 million re PPE Tidy Sums !!!!!
Any of you note the 3 salaries and bonuses etc to the New CEO and the other 2 Board members ?? and the package given to Stuart Simpson re his departure ??
Hardly destitute are we ???
1% for the effore we put in -and lets face it-the profits re late 2020/early 2021 solely down to the footsoldiers
What Major Impact as any CEO had in the last 20 years re this organisation ??
Whilst I always accepted you have to have someone at the top of the tree (use to work in City of London )
It would be nice to think those 3 gentleman now with us will make a difference ??
But will they ??

The outcome will be a bad deal for us all as they will not provide the question first. Second even if the vote goes the wrong way they will have another vote or not have a vote but a committee. We will be back here in three years time debating the same s**t with the same leaders of the union and our lot will have got worse during that time!

full time delivery postie...basic pay £441.58 plus delivery supplement £25.65 plus £12.62 pay rise and another £4.79 pay rise in April = £484.64 top line (flat week) x by 52 weeks is £25,201.28. it would seem it is indeed right.
