Anybody know why staff aren't scanning qr codes when going into work ?
A friend works for a insurance company and to get beyond reception they have to scan in then have a temp check , meanwhile we pretend nothings wrong .
Not everyone has a smart phone and not all of those who do will take their phone with them into the building
The vast majority have ( as you well know ) so surely it's better to have those 80% scanning in rather than just look for excuses ?
Of course maybe your actually a manager and the last thing you want is a outbreak identified and your staff told to isolate , in which case i can see why you'd want to bury your head in the sand .
Calling somebody a manager because they have a different opinion is frankly ridiculous.
Did i actually call him a manager or suggest he might be ?
It's a legitimate question , why doesn't the 4th? biggest employer in this country have qr codes at there premises.
Because some people might not have mobiles is a pretty weak answer.
Should the doms tell you if you ask whos currently off with covid . ? These things shdnt be secret , were putting our lives at risk day n day out . Feels scary every day at work , but ,, we are very important key workers ! Yeah.

Pretty sure it’s only required at premises where members of the public have access to help test and trace identify who has been there. Royal Mail should already know who has been in the premises if there is a case within a workplace.

From the official guidance,
Offices
QR code posters for offices are only likely to be needed where there is a high number of external visitors or where workers cannot easily be identified or notified (for example by email) if there was a potential outbreak linked to the site. Workplace canteens and cafes must have an NHS QR code poster if they are accessible to the public.

I've got a smart phone but I don't take it into the building with me.
If someone has a mobile but it's not a smart phone then what good is a QR code to them?
I used to work for royal mail...I would definitely be reporting it to the top management and union i.e..whats up no backbone???
I complained to Dave Ward and CWU Twitter accounts and they both blocked me, Bunch w*****s
We might possibly see a slight increase in the enforcement of mask wearing in RM offices now that some shops are starting to refuse entry without masks. Possibly....
The fact that the best way to stop the virus spreading is for more posties to work from home. But the company are more concerned with efficiency and people working all their hours they are paid for. Bringing back optional van sharing during a pandemic is proof of how Royal Mail were more concerned about profits than their workers health and safety.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

There were loads of full-timers more than willing to work from home in the 1st LD but once they were asked to make up their hours by doing additional work outdoors they soon came running back into the office next day at the usual start time.
I know someone who works for a company that managed to furlough half its staff and still keep running through the pandemic yet all Royal Mail are bothered about is efficiency - not the health and safety of its workers

Did management just pull names out of a hat the first time or something to decide who works from home?
What if there is an outbreak in the office and peoples health suffers long term, or someone dies?
I get that they might be trying to reduce staff indoor numbers, but that's one hell of a call to decide who takes the bigger risk (2 hours per morning crammed into a DO)
How much bonus each year do you all get?
All Managers get bonuses if you don't play ball you get f****d
Managers have Managers and
Managers above them and get told the same
The new guy is even more of a cash grabber than the forma CEO and more incompetent at that!
From experience exactly the same has happened to me. Do NOT bother with CWU HQ they are so busy protecting Royal Mail and the business. In many areaa they really do not have the postie's best interests at all. Absolutely complain to HSE who are investigating currently for me. Don't leave it in house to sort out they won't. A third party independent has to investigate and they will do if enough postie's highlight a problem. HSE, OFCOM, ACAS all out there along with MP's to put pressure onto RM and the CWU.
