I HAVE SEEN THE OTHER POSTS RELATING TO THIS BUT REALLY WANT TO KNOW HOW I STAND REGARDING BOXING DAY WORKING. IS THERE A NATIONAL AGREEMENT IN PLACE THAT NOW SAYS WE HAVE TO WORK. I WORK IN CANTERBURY MAIL CENTRE AND STILL DO NOT KNOW WETHER OR NOT I WILL BE WORKING BOXING DAY NIGHT, IS THIS ACCEPTABLE FROM A SO CALLED FAMILY FRIENDLY COMPANY. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD YOU CAN EITHER MAKE UP HOURS ON SUNDAY (I AM UNABLE TO DO THIS) OR GO INTO A HAT TO SEE IF YOU MIGHT BE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET THE NIGHT OFF OR ELSE IT'S IN BOXING NIGHT.
WE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN TOLD WE HAD THE TIME OFF AND I HAVE MADE ARRANGEMENTS BASED ON THIS INFO.
WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT OTHER MAIL CENTRE MON-FRI NIGHT STAFF ARE REQUIRED TO WORK.

THANKS FOR THAT, I WAS MEANT TO POST IN BLUE SHIRTS. REALLY NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE SITUATION IS REGARDS BOXING DAY, I HAVE MADE ARRANGEMENTS BASED ON PREVIOUS INFO TO GO STAY AT THE MOTHER IN LAWS WITH THE KIDS. COULD I TAKE A DAYS UNPAID LEAVE WITHOUT OBJECTION, THIS IS BECOMING A BT OF A THORN IN MY SIDE AT THE MOMENT AS THE REST OF THE FAMILY ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING AWAY.
