Royal Mail and Parcelforce services to the EU have resumed after almost a week of disruption.
Services to mainland Europe, excluding the Republic of Ireland, were suspended by Royal Mail on December 23 in light of concern over the new coronavirus variant in the UK, VUI-202012/01.
Parcelforce followed suit and also excluded services to Turkey and Canada.
Major disruption was felt over the Christmas period as both groups experienced their busiest time of the year.
Now, services have resumed with immediate effect, with people being warned to expect a delay of up to two days if sending post today.
A statement from Royal Mail reads: "Royal Mail and Parcelforce services to Europe have been reopened and are now fully operational.
"For items posted today, customers should expect a delay up to two working days for some countries.
"We're working with our airline and postal/courier partners across the globe to maintain services, however delays should be expected.
"Many countries have implemented special measure to combat the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19, especially for signature service to maintain social distancing.
"The number of countries we can access is changing daily."

Hello,
The services to Europe are still at standstill. Today I have been in the post office and they told me they still don't deliver to Europe. You are quoting the RM website International Incident Bulletin about the services, but somehow forgot to include what is on the same page :
WE STRONGLY ADVISE NOT TO SEND ITEMS TO DESTINATIONS LISTED AS ON 'SUSPENSION' : and basically all countries of the world are listed there - all on suspension. You can click on any country, they are all on suspension. It really grates me when just bit above the list of countries you can read 'RM resumed the delivery to Europe' - I haven't noticed it.

A brief glance at the page indicates the following countries are on suspension: Haiti, Nicaragua, Turkmenistan, Ukraine - Crimea & Sevastopol Regions, Venezuela. Perhaps you mistook the list of countries with "a" status for those on suspension listed alongside the country name? For instancemartika wrote: ↑30 Dec 2020, 17:13Hello,

Re: Royal Mail and Parcelforce services to EU resume
I posted items to Europe today and yesterday at the Post Office with no issues.
It sounds as if the staff at your local PO don't realise that those countries are no longer suspended.
Try a different PO?
