Re: Why you should support the agreement
I'm not against change and believe me and I really want to vote YES for this deal.
But for months we have been kept in the dark about these negotiations, and even now, it still isn't complete. Why do I get the impression that Royal Mail are also not entirely happy from the deal??

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

The same job that we do now - Go ask some of the older posties in your office about the good old days
The days when you weren't arguing with your boss about cutting off, the days when you knew you could be finished to pick the kids up from school instead of having to work till 3.30pm, the days when the job wasn't all about money and about providing a public service.....

Re: Why you should support the agreement
I will, thanks. They sent Green Back to do Bad Cop and now Ken is playing Good Cop. How many of the old team who wanted to flip us over and go in dry are still there? New boss, same as the old boss, now he's just whispering sweet nothings in our ear and says he'll respect us in the morning. So by all means vote no , If you want but I believe this is an agreement which resolves our 2 year dispute and has changed the employer in a significant way.
2 years with no compulsory redundancies? time enough to be used up and then spat out once they've got what they want.
All this trumpeting of a change in management attitude needs a caveat reminding us of RMs past failures to give a flying f**k about legally binding agreements. These c***s couldn't lie straight in bed.
Come the f***ing revolution.....

If the talks are continuing and the 24 points are important - is the ballot being cast after these have concluded and the outcome announced?
Otherwise whats the point?
Otherwise whats the point?
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Re: Why you should support the agreement
In the negotiating letter that was posted here there was mention of proposed changes to the attendance procedure and also sick pay policy. Has the union managed to get that completely off the table or is that one of the things that will be negotiated in the coming months that we are expected to vote on now without knowing anything about it?

Re: Why you should support the agreement
it is not an agreement it is a compromise between 2 groups who dont care about their workers we are collateral damage in their game
as long as they look to have done something to appease us with a pay award we were due anyway
playing with our t&cs we had fought for in previous disputes as if they count for nothing
exra hrs , longer delivery spans , etc, part meal breaks at end of delivery ffs who thought that masterplan up
has our cwu leaders been out on delivery recently

Just found the answer myselfZicomurphy wrote: ↑29 Dec 2020, 19:53In the negotiating letter that was posted here there was mention of proposed changes to the attendance procedure and also sick pay policy. Negotiations on Attendance and other policies will continue. Any final agreement from the discussions will form part of this agreement.
So a stricter attendance procedure is a real prospect as a result of accepting this agreement?

Re: Why you should support the agreement
In case anyone hasn’t read the negotiating letter the Royal Mail proposal is to trigger a stage one at 12 days or 3 absences in a 12 month period as opposed to 4 absences or 14 days now. It will also take 12 months to get off a stage one as opposed to 6 months now.

They also want new entrants to not be entitled to full sick pay until they have 5 years service.

Re: Why you should support the agreement
It is important that you recognise that was Royal Mail’s proposal in October which the union rejected and no reductions in sick leave or increased trigger warnings are in this agreement and the postal Executive will not be agreeing to any reduction in the future.

Greater encouragement towards Local agreements though....
I can’t help feeling That’s asking for trouble.
