If you were the partner in a van and your partner has tested positive for Coronavirus what should you do?

All employees with coronavirus symptoms (high temperature, new continuous cough, loss or change to your taste or smell) should self-isolate immediately and seek a test.

If you shared a van with an employee who has now tested positive for coronavirus, consider when you last shared a van with them. If you shared a van and had close contact during the 2 days before they developed symptoms and self- isolated, then you should self-isolate for 10 days from the last date of close contact with the confirmed case (you are very likely to be contacted by NHS test and trace). Your manager will record your absence on PSP as ‘SCU070 Coronavirus – self-isolation’ and normal Royal Mail sick pay policy will apply. You should not take a test if you don’t have symptoms as this could generate a false negative test result and you may then go on to develop symptoms in the following days.

you need a test and you need to isolate, you can order a postal test which arrives next day, you will get an email back within 1 hr of ordering with an order number, give this to manager and let you rep know.

You don't get tested if you don't have symptoms.

I received today via my COVID-19 App a notification to isolate as I had been in contact with someone who tested positive. The problem is the date of contact was 18th December  . 1 hour later my App changed to period of isolation is now complete  . Test and Trace is working well, NOT

Exactly this. It's crazy but true. Unless you yourself have symptoms, you must go to work as normal. If you are subsequently contacted by govt track and trace you must immediately self isolate for 10 days. If you develop symptoms you must stay off work and get a test. If negative, return to work. If positive self isolate for 10 days minimum and stay off work till you feel fit to return. This is what I was told by Dom. It's also govt guidance.

You can get a test if you have no symptons...
Who can get a free test
you’ve been asked to get a test to confirm a positive result

https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

My daughter has had a test, I took her because of school shenanigans, my grandkids have been tested school s**t again, my other daughter my son in law, a mate and his family, I could go on...

If I have sat next to some mo fo who is positive, ya damn right I'm getting a test.

Plus, you're an essential worker.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
