Sandy (Beds) manager caught nicking
A manager from Sandy who has worked as a cover in offices in SG area has been caught after a £4000 nickin' spree. But the word on the grapevine is if he resigns and pays back the money no charges will be made. Not sure if this is true because the Police are involved and surely it's up to them if it goes to court?

No, it's up to the complainant
No, unfortunately, if RM refuse to press charges nothing will happen. The only way that charges could be brought in those circumstances, would be if one of the Customers pressed Charges. It would be difficult (but not impossible) to do that however, if they have been compensated before the Thief was caught.

Do posties that steal get this choice? All disciplinary procedures should be uniform within RM. If posties are punished so should be managers.swoosta wrote:A manager from Sandy who has worked as a cover in offices in SG area has been caught after a £4000 nickin' spree. CORRECT :- RM have tightened up after being shafted on C4's Despatches -RM's first response was appointing Crozier as CEO.That's after RM paid out £500.000 to Toime after "personalty clashes " with Leighton . Crozier set Lawyers onto C4 , but we didn't hear too much about it for some strange reason.andy2007 wrote:No, unfortunately, if RM refuse to press charges nothing will happen. RM would throw money at the customer to keep him/her sweet and keep it out of the papers and Postwatch off their backs .
Depends if the media get hold of it ???, the usual response would be the IB telling that manager to go quietly OR they'll do a private prosecution to save face . It all depends if that office has had problems with thieving in the past.
As far as the IB/RM are concerned he's done "the decent thing & been a good boy " to protect the business and RM don't have to deal with /admitt they've a problem. It keeps Area & Senior Mgt off their patch too.
You can get a stubborn/arrogant manager thinking he's fireproof & the system will protect him and he could come back somewhere else . RM is good at one thing and that's sweeping s**t under the carpet .
The IB would put a hand on our shoulders for a elastic band or bag tie & frog march us out of the building but !!!
The them and us divide just get's worse , especially with RM's double standards & very underhand dealings + petty politics . :lfo :cfo -all about selling something you haven't got

Re: Sandy (Beds) manager caught nicking
Precisely! Just because he resigns, and pays back the money, doesn't alter the fact that he is a thief. Far from giving him an escape route, they should make an example of him. If managers think that they have this option available, then there is little deterrant for stealing. Because if they get away with it, they get the stolen money, and if the get caught, they won't be prosecuted. It makes me sick!mailsort6 wrote:Do posties that steal get this choice? Grade makes no difference when they decide if you should be prosecuted, only the seriousness of what has been done, resignation is only an alternative to dissmissal not to prosecution.
