Stevenage Postman Sacked after 46 years service

Post by swoosta »

A Stevenage postman with 46 years under his belt has been sacked after leaving keys in van which resulted in the van nicked and found with all the contents intact on a gypsie site.

Did he have a bad conduct record?

Post by andy2007 »

Had he had other conduct problems before that?
If not, why was he sacked?

I would expect someone to be severely punnished for such a cock up, but to sack someone for that, if their record was clean is rediculous. Particularly as all the Post was found intact.

Got done for giving an unofficial lift in a post office vehicle once. Wasn't popular with management as has lots of claims for injuries and was seen as militant.

Management saw this as an opportunity to get rid of am memeber of staff with a good size pension to come. Totally worthless management now at RM.

Stevenage opg!s should walk out and stand at the gates until the hard working postman is reinstated ,after 46 years he should receive the george cross not the sack, flexability must work both ways,he made a simple mistake, royal mail make huge mistakes and lose mail to competetors every day.

What if he had been a screw? And as an addendum to that does anyone know if any manager that damaged / wrote off RM vehicles during the IA have been disciplined? ( Other than the screw that is being dealt with by polis & CPS in the SW )
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?
