Chrome error when posting, logging on?

Post by POSTMAN »

The information that you’re about to submit is not secure
Because the site is using a connection that’s not completely secure, your information will be visible to others.
Does anyone get the above when logging on, posting, or generally submitting on the site.

The site does have a safety certificate and the error 'seems' to have only started today.
Only on 'Google' Chrome though no other browser.

I have been having major issues with Google this past week, wonder if it's related.

EDIT: Yes, it's everyone who uses Chrome, as I said before we had major bot issues after my original screw up and upgrade.
Other browsers are not affected so if you can use another browser for the time being it will be easier for you.

Obviously getting it looked into. The site is still secure as the padlock is still there, it must be a Google bot type error.

If you use another browser and you have forgotten your password you should be able to get it either in Chrome or your Google account, links below.

Or err, Google how to do it.

Or use the forgot password link on the login page, copy/paste the temp password on.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I use Google Chrome and I keep getting the message.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Yep, I've been getting the alert message since yesterday, too.

It seems that Google started doing this since Version 86 of August this year.

Well, at least the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is monitoring the latest version of Chrome. :cuppa

Forbes (Nov. 15, 2020) ~ Google Chrome Update Gets Serious: Homeland Security (CISA) Confirms Attacks Underway
Within the space of just three short weeks, Google has patched no less than five potentially dangerous vulnerabilities in the Chrome web browser.

These are not your common vulnerabilities either, but rather ones known as zero-days. A zero-day being a vulnerability that is being actively exploited by attackers while remaining unknown to the vendor or threat intelligence outfits.

And in other good news, it seems we now have the option to enlarge YouTube clips to full screen mode here on RM Chat. Yay! :dance

Something's not quite right with the embedded video frame size on mobile devices. I've been perusing over threads on the phpBB forum to see if this is a new anomaly, but to no avail.

Basically, the embedded YouTube and Vimeo clips run off the screen on a mobile device held in portrait mode. It's okay in landscape/wide mode, but it's not often one has to twist their phone that way to view a clip.
