Re: 26th December
Maybe people who are sheduled xmas day off shouldn't get their hrs back either........would that be fair? Of course not. I'll say it again, I really don't know how the Cwu aren't all over this. It's not insignificant, as I said 20000 posties are effectively losing a day compared to the rest however many blinkered people say ,' no, you're not losing anything you're having your scheduled day off' . That statement infuriates me, are they really that stupid or do they just think I am?
If someone comes in on their day off, they are £90 better off. Just like royal mail though , they'll pay someone to come in on their day off when they could be fully staffed Monday to Thursday AND be fair to all, giving them a 4 day break. No wonder the company is in shite.

Thinking about the way royal mail are I'm surprised they haven't said that because the Saturday is non service day everyone on a rolling day off will be given Saturday as their day off. I noticed all the reserves in my office have been given the Saturday as their day off, wonder if that's a nationwide thing?

Of course it will be. They're paying them to be there all week instead of paying them to have a day off. Saving £90 per full timer.citypostie wrote: ↑13 Dec 2020, 19:23Thinking about the way royal mail are I'm surprised they haven't said that because the Saturday is non service day everyone on a rolling day off will be given Saturday as their day off. Re: 26th December
If everyone else on the staff is effectively getting two paid bank holidays that week, then all must. I'll be taking Christmas Eve off if they don't offer another day in lieu beforehand.
If they want to shaft a sixth of the workforce out of a day's pay, after a year like this, all for some petty penny pinching, then f**k 'em.

Re: 26th December
If you mean the declaration that 26th Dec is a non-USO day, it's in CWU LTB 513/20. https://www.cwu.org/ltb/ltb-513-20-peak ... s-2020-21/
If you mean anything about the statement from the OP that:
- I've not seen anything - I think it'll depend whether your manager is a Scrooge or not.I have just been told that all reserves will be forced to take Saturday 26th December as their day off and it's a NAtional directive from RM? Any truth in the rumor?

f***ing hell. Some of you need to get a grip. You win some, You lose some. No one is losing money or getting paid any more. It's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

They're working a day extra, that you're not. You're getting paid to sit at home Saturday; they're not. Working a day more than everyone else for the same pay is losing. If you don't get it, keep your neb out and stop shitting on your colleagues. Reservists don't ever seem to "win some" with Royal Mail, they only ever get the short end of the stick and their frustration is not yours to belittle.
