Re: What annoys you the most?
It's more those inside the locked door that have a very small slot (plus numbers missing and not in order) for security reasons and the flat owners don't empty their boxes for like a week or more and someone as forced mail and D2D in them and they even leave messages on them like don't leave mail in corridor, there is one particular place where the reserve posty had pulled the feckers off the wall in frustration with the plugs hanging kinda funny.xPandabear1992x wrote: ↑06 Dec 2020, 16:57i f***ing love them. it means i don't have to fart arse around if I can't buzz myself in or nobody answers. and more often than not around the loops I cover, i get a wall mounted box and it takes care of most of the mail in the loop.

Underpaid items of mail that are not surcharged especially Christmas and Birthday Cards.
Then they have the audacity to moan about how much money they're losing and increase the price of stamps.
They don't want to manage the decline in letter volumes , they want to hasten its demise.

Re: What annoys you the most?
Yorks again. We have a ramp at work to push your york out to the loading bay. We are told we are not allowed to pull the york down the ramp due to H+S, but as soon as you push the york down the ramp things fall off so you have to put the brake on, hope the person behind you has noticed you’ve stopped, retrieve the fallen parcels, put them back on the york, take the brake off. Repeat process until you reach the van. Every single day.
I know I shouldn’t have to but I’m tempted to cut some thick cardboard to size and slot it at the front of the york to stop things falling out.

Re: What annoys you the most?
Interesting one, it doesn’t really matter how secure you make everything. I’ve tried putting big parcels at the front then all the little ones behind, same thing. I’ve even watched the older posties to see how they do it, and without fail they all have the same problem.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑14 Dec 2020, 06:18Shouldn't the load in the york be secure?HTPostman wrote: ↑14 Dec 2020, 05:48Yorks again. So it doesn’t really matter how secure or how you stack things, end of the day you’re putting multiple parcels of various sizes onto a metal york with spaced bars on the side and straps on the front then pushing it down a ramp. Gravity does the rest.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Surely nobody can conduct you for pushing the york down the ramp back to front.HTPostman wrote: ↑14 Dec 2020, 18:00Not allowed to as we aren’t able to access the brake then.Grumpyoldmailman wrote: ↑14 Dec 2020, 05:52Push the York down backwards.HTPostman wrote: ↑14 Dec 2020, 05:48Yorks again. Unless they really expect you to use a brake on an incline, bring the york to a sudden stop and let gravity pull all of the other packets onto the floor of a loading bay presumably packed with active vehicles.
Red tape.

Can’t pull the york down. Can’t push it down backwards. Can’t walk alongside it. Has to be pushed from behind.
So people push it down, things fall off, they have to stop the york with the brake, pick everything up while people are waiting to go down the ramp and others up the ramp. On average the waiting and faffing about adds 5 minutes to the day.

Is this taking mail from the walk prep frames out to your vans?
If you have an accident moving a york and you weren't using the yellow handles, RM will just deem it to be a blameworthy
