UK parcel carrier Yodel has agreed a two-year pay deal for its 3,300 employees.

The deal, which follows negotiations with trade unions GMB and Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers (Usdaw) will see Yodel employees receive a 4.75% pay increase.

Members of the GMB union had previously rejected an initial pay offer of a 2% rise from July 2020 and a further 1.5% increase in 2021.

In addition to the agreed pay increase, full-time employees will receive a £50 bonus payment in January 2021 to reward them for their hard work during the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

Mike Hancox, chief executive at Yodel, said: “We are pleased to have finalised a two-year pay deal to reward the valued service of our employees. Our employees have been exceptional throughout the pandemic, going above and beyond to uphold excellent customer service under tricky circumstances. This deal recognises their sterling work, offering increased pay over two years as we look to a bright and successful 2021 together.”
