There are many roads locally where you wouldn't be able to get large vehicles like fire engines ambulances, bin trucks etc down if cars didn't park partly on the pavement. If the government do end up implementing the ban on sales of new petrol and diesel cars then eventually you'll get rows of houses with car charging cables trailed over the pavement

For me it's the pro-rata shafting even though my average hours over the year exceeds a flat rate full timer.
Next to look forward to will be the Xmas bonus, plus reading on here there may be some sort of sweetener to accept whatever deal gets announced.

Heavy handed colleagues breaking things like the rear doors on Peugeot vans so they swing into traffic - c##ts!!
Having to endure Heart FM in the mornings - this is Shaaart!!!

I forgot about the numberless houses! It’s not difficult to write your number on a bit of paper. That and numbered houses which have their mail as a named address (eg The Granary) only they removed the house name sign a few years ago so you’re never sure.Jpro747 wrote: ↑29 Nov 2020, 17:15I agree with everything thats been said so I‘ll add a few more

Not sure about others but if I kept getting mail late with question marks written on or tracked parcels marked as address incomplete I’d sort out a house name sign or update all my online accounts. I wouldn’t just leave it for years on end.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Re: What annoys you the most?
I'm getting wound up just reading these it's like I'm reliving every annoyance
my god yes houses with no names
Dog do in yards
people that are clearly in but don't answer the door
redeliveries that aren't in again!
People that answer the door with an abrupt yes like it's a massive inconvenience to them to answer the door to get their parcel that they couldn't be arsed to go to the shop for that I've probably paid for with my tax coz they're work shy tossers that haven't worked a day in their lives but they can still afford a better tv than me!
Managers that say "on your way could you just... it'll only take 5 minutes" firstly it's not on my way secondly how is your sense of time so good if I've left 15min early but you think a 20min job will only take 5?
There's sooo many more but I can feel my blood beginning to boil

Oh no you’ve just reminded me of something else that annoys me. You get a new build on your round and guess what they’re calling it - Yes that’s right, the same as every other bloody house on your round. “The cottage” “The granary” “Spring barn” “Hill house”... NO. F**king pick something else! May I suggest “Tw@t cottage”?? What ever happened to originality?HTPostman wrote: ↑29 Nov 2020, 18:15I forgot about the numberless houses! Haha forgot about that, same at our place, 1 duty has got 3 "rose cottages" on it, and guess what they complain like tw#ts if you get them wrong, another has 2 "the old barns" on the same rural road within 1/4 mile of each of other so they've even got the same f##king postcode !Jpro747 wrote: ↑29 Nov 2020, 19:57Oh no you’ve just reminded me of something else that annoys me. It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Updates that destroy a whole canteen.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: What annoys you the most?
There’s a rural here that has 5 (yes, 5) ‘The Cottage’ including 2 that are opposite each other one of which gets a lot of parcels and the resident opens the door in a huff because he thinks you’ve got him mixed up with the one across the road (I never have got them mixed up and highly doubt the duty holder does either....can’t speak for Hermes, Amazon etc).ted_e_bear wrote: ↑29 Nov 2020, 20:47Haha forgot about that, same at our place, 1 duty has got 3 "rose cottages" on it, and guess what they complain like tw#ts if you get them wrong, another has 2 "the old barns" on the same rural road within 1/4 mile of each of other so they've even got the same f##king postcode !Jpro747 wrote: ↑29 Nov 2020, 19:57Oh no you’ve just reminded me of something else that annoys me. Re: What annoys you the most?
Another one: finding the van on a morning. We have about 70 vans in the yard squeezed in around 3 sides of the building plus a car park half a mile away where we sometimes have to leave them.
On average I waste 10 mins a day trying to locate the van. Sometimes I find it straight away (2mins) other times it takes me 10 mins to walk right round the outside of the building before trudging up to the car park and finding the van up there (another 10mins). On a morning there must be 30 of us at various points walking round looking for the damn thing.
I keep saying this to management- why can’t we have a column in the logbook where you write approximately where you’ve left the van eg near bike shed, near side gate, up at the car.
30 of us averaging 10 mins a day to find the van is 5 hours a day....that’s 30 hours a week wasted! Just writing ‘car park’ in a column would take 5 seconds.
As you’d expect it falls on deaf ears.

Foe the vans in the yard, why not have an allocated parking space for each one?HTPostman wrote: ↑30 Nov 2020, 06:08Another one: finding the van on a morning.
