Hello I am working the Warrington mail centre as a Christmas casual and started two weeks ago. I have just found out that somebody in my household has tested positive for Covid so I need to self isolate for 2 weeks.
I cannot get through tho the centre by phone so I have emailed the Xmas helpline.
I don't know whether this the right way to contact them and I'm worried that I won't be able to go back to work there in 2 weeks.

Re: Christmas Casual self isolation
I work in the admin and the policy we have in our office (not far from Warrington) is that Christmas casuals contact the writing room to report sickness / absence.
You do need to contact somebody to let them know - we (writing room / admin staff) are required to add convid absences to our reporting system.
It may change after next week (after lockdown ends) but this is the current position.

I've never heard of a local resource unit being called a "writing room"paulus103 wrote: ↑28 Nov 2020, 15:51I work in the admin and the policy we have in our office (not far from Warrington) is that Christmas casuals contact the writing room to report sickness / absence.

Thanks for replying. Do you know where I can find a contact number for the writing room? I've tried phoning the mail centre directly and the Xmas helplinw but can only get through to recorded messages.

Re: Christmas Casual self isolation
We operate an answer phone system during non-office hours so with leaving a message you should be alright.
I'll see if I can find a number for you tomorrow when I'm in the office
