I love Depeche Mode but the fact I’ve hummed the blues riff to “ I Feel You” every day since I can’t remember when on my round is now doing my head in! I guess it must be a stress thing?

Oh, those irritating earworms, or technically known as an Involuntary Musical Imagery. They can drive me up the wall, too. Depeche Mode's 'I Feel You' was one that would plant itself in my head and never leave.

After hearing them year after year for decades, Christmas songs drive me insane. But there's one I never get tired of and I enjoy humming along to it whenever it's on our delivery office radio. It's The Pretenders "2000 Miles" from their 1983 album Learning to Crawl. (And a great band to see live back in the day. )

We did start to sing joyful inspiring songs but got told”if you’ve got time to sing,you’ve got time to lapse”!! So we stopped and knuckled down and increased our speed in the sorting,skipped our meal break and got out as early as we could !!

Before retiral I always enjoyed singing (not that loud though ) while at work ,helped pass some of the time , helped keep your eyes off the clock. Here's a thought when was the last time you heard your delivery postie whistle whilst out and about, Too busy playing with his/her PDA probably. It's a dying art I reckon dont think anyone under 50 nowadays can whistle ..Oh for the simple things in life.
