For god's sake give it a rest. This is exactly the point I'm making. Why can't we just debate? It's always this bloody petty name calling and abuse. All it does is show Postal Workers in a childish light.

You don't own the thread or forum BELIAL, and I can comment if I like. It's not a barb it's a fact. All that you're doing is stretching this thread way off topic and making Postal Workers look like a bunch of children, who do nothing but call each other names.

postal_jedi wrote:Look I am not from Postman chat, I've never even been on it. It's always the same, posters don't like what they hear so they shoot the poster. I would say that, yes the Postal Workers on this site are fed up. I would also say that we don't hear from the ones who aren't because as soon as they post they are bullied off the forum. I'm all for debate and opinions, I love them and I don't think anyone should be banned from a site. As long as they aren't offensive, racist or sexist. All I am pointing out is that a handfull of posters dominate this site. As I said, I'm not pro RM or RM management, I just like to hear what other people have to say too. If only to strengthen the arguement against them. I understand some staff like to come on here to rant or let off steam. I would say rant and let off steam at work, where it is productive. Doing it on a forum will gain nothing. The other point I would make is that, yes, I would say a lot of posters are unhappy, but the majority of union members accepted this pay deal. This was something I really, and honestly, didn't expect to happen from reading the posts on this site. Could it be we are becoming out of touch? I really hope not.

If you’re all for debate and you enjoy hearing different opinions,
Why say rant and let off steam at work, where you say it’s productive?
That has not been my experience nor is it my opinion, Can you expand on what you mean productive?

you say "If only to strengthen the arguement against them."
Or learn something that you didn’t know!

You say "Doing it on a forum will gain nothing."
Why is this?
It’s good to talk as you say.

You say "The other point I would make is that, yes, I would say a lot of posters are unhappy, but the majority of union members accepted this pay deal.
This was something I really, and honestly, didn't expect to happen from reading the posts on this site."

Well sorry again, but I expected a yes vote, for a number of reasons.

You say "Could it be we are becoming out of touch? I really hope not"

I don’t think so, makes you think why was there a yes vote, I certainly don’t think it was for the reason that RM think.
By productive I meant, actually facing the aggravation head on. Ranting on a forum at the nearest person who doesn't agree with you, all because your pissed off with work isn't exactly productive, nor is it talking.
Yes, there is definately the scope and oportunity to learn something new, in some cases, but that is not likely to be given the chance to happen. I'm sure many people expected a yes vote, I don't think you were the only one. The majority of people on here, in my opinion, didn't. I don't know what the reasons for the 'yes' vote were. I know I will never find out on this site.

Ps Thanks for the support Night Tonic, but alas it's a lost cause. :silenced
"By productive I meant, actually facing the aggravation head on. "

Please explain head on?

"Ranting on a forum at the nearest person who doesn't agree with you, all because your pissed off with work isn't exactly productive, nor is it talking."

Aren’t we talking without ranting?

"Yes, there is definately the scope and oportunity to learn something new, in some cases, but that is not likely to be given the chance to happen. "

Why do you say that?

"I'm sure many people expected a yes vote, I don't think you were the only one. The majority of people on here, in my opinion, didn't. I don't know what the reasons for the 'yes' vote were. I know I will never find out on this site."

Well there’s only one way to find that out.

Ps Thanks for the support Night Tonic, but alas it's a lost cause. :silenced[/quote]

No, and PJ is right. Far too much hot air from select individuals who don't let anyone post and resort to name calling. It isn't clever, its certainly NOT impressive and just makes posties look like a bunch of carrot crunching morons. I'm only glad I haven't got customers on my walk with such small and paranoid minds. Its one thing being worried about wandering managers on here (that I can understand) but jeesh I've been in this job MANY MANY years and I'm not a scab, manager, brown-noser or otherwise. If anything, it just backs up what that article says!!!

It's not a fact it's an OPINION there is a difference , and pardon me for saying but a weighted opinion too . As for stretching the thread, well I'm "just trying to validate my worth" and "secure my position within the company" ,Stretch that if you can.
As for childish tantrums you seem to have conjoured one up for every poster who has disagreed with you in the last five weeks. Your beef seems to be
1
people disagree with you
2
they disagree with you in the wrong way
3
disagreeing with you should be curtailed as it somehow inhibits free speech

Thanks for reminding me I don't own the thread, Try to keep that point in mind PJ

Concerning name calling, just think of it as shorthand, it just saves time conveying opinions about posters ideology

Teddy, yes we are talking. My initial comment wasn't aimed at you nor the posters in this thread. However, an example of what I refer to is illustrated in this thread. I really don't know what you you are aiming for by asking me to explain every sentence I post. I think it would be best if you just read my posts, made a judgement and passed comment and then I will respond accordingly.

Wow, you do get personal. I think you'll find you are the one with weighted opinions
BELIAL wrote:Not talking to you yet so butt out PJ
I don't mind people disagreeing with me, not one bit. What I find ridiculous is people who disagree with you and the only reason they can give you for it is, they think you're a manager, scab or jobsworth. Which is all I have got in my five weeks. Please continue to prove my point for me. You make it very easy to illustrate my point of view.

Well said. All this thread illustrates is that for Belial, calling another member a 'company twat' is debate. On that basis the thrust of this topic is clearly right, postal forums don't have a future. I'm not entirely convinced they even had a start. I can see why other forums closed if this is as good as it gets. And you hope to implement change from within? Pah! Too many assumptions, too much waffle and no substance. Same old same old. If we're ever to have a united front, we can do without biggotry and name calling. We'd be on a loser to start with.

Oh I forgot - we did. Wonder why....

Oh dear, looks like old Bel's been rumbled.
I sense an obscure/meaningless quote will be forthcoming anytime soon.........

I believe that's the standard retort for some. It saves all the brain-strain of justification and reply, ya know....
