Ofcom has issued a direction providing an exception to the universal service in Scotland when 2
January falls on a Saturday. This means that Royal Mail will not have to collect or deliver mail on that
day until further notice...

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

If Saturday 26 December is a non service day does that mean if it's your rest day you can't claim a day off or the hours as payment?

It will just be your rest day as normal, no extras.

Does this mean someone who has the Monday Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday off that week will only work 3 days that week while someone with Saturday off has to work 4?

Yes, the union sees it that more people win out of it than lose out

So next year anyone with a rotating rest day working the week before Christmas and their rest day falls on the Saturday has to work 5 days while everyone else who has a rotating rest day that week only works 4.That can't happen
