Okay, I don't know if it's my system, but it looks like clicking on an URL in a user's comment doesn't pop up a separate browser window as it did in the previous forum version. Pity that. :cry
As someone who used to run their own website(local news site) I know some things can't always be done and it's impossible to please everybody. But I do agree with the above comment about clicking on links. I don't think that should be too difficult to remedy? :hmmmm

There is one thing that I don't like about the new RMC so far, and that's the index page and the fact I can't see which forums have been updated when using my mobile phone. I have to login and go to each forum separately, or else use the quick links function.

'Links open in new window' is not phpbb default it is something I put in myself and just haven't had time yet to put it back in, it will go back in.
On PC you can always right click and open in new window like I do on other boards that way for the time being until I get it back in.

Robert, it's all in the red, for the time being the red Icons, I again made topics red when new and unread and will look for that again...
1.jpg
Red icons means you have not read the topic/new topic , click on the icon to go to the last bit of the topic you read.
2.jpg
Active topics will show the latest topics
3.jpg
Red icons again show that forum has unread topics for you

The old forum everything red meant unread and new, for the time being the red icons are what you are looking for.

Will look at Avatars now. Edit Done.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

But not 'internal' links, they open in the same widow, will look back into that.

Or clicking on attachments. I just noticed they open in the same window too. I tried it with an attachment I added to an edited comment.

Open new window I have taken off for the time being as I think an update to it caused us to shutdown.
We now have the red topics unread back.
Splitting announcements and stickies will have to wait for a bit.

I agree, it's very good. Handy to see notification alerts ready to read as soon as one logs in to RM Chat.

It's a shame phpBB doesn't support multi-quoting like other web forum packages (e.g. vBulletin, XenForo, Invision). I believe that long before version 3.3.0, there was an rare extension for multi-quoting but it was discontinued due to messing up the forum.

What I mean by multi-quoting is the ability to quote from different threads at once and then carry all those quotes into a comment box. This isn't the same as a single quote when replying to a post.

MultiQuote.jpg

Also not available: FastReply. This is handy. The reply comment box appears on the same screen as the thread right underneath the last comment, rather than a new window to type your reply as we do now.

Although I believe there's a QuickReply extension that's been written. Same thing as FastReply but with a different name.

How weird, I was thinking this the other day as I had to do a few quotes and I'm sure we could do on here before, quote someone and then stay in the thread and quote someone else etc and it would all be in the same post.
Edit: In one topic though, not different topics.

Not different post though like you said.
Quick reply is on here somewhere as standard I'll have a look.
Will move this post to the support forum now.

Yeah, multi-quoting in the same thread would be good enough. A few other forum software versions have that feature but they're not able to multi-quote across threads; it's quite a beast to master when writing a code for it.

Anyway, it looks like phpBB doesn't support multi-quoting, even for posts on the same thread.

Oh well.

It does in the same thread, look at my last post!
Do a quote and then scroll down, it works, I did it.
