It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I'm seeing the following:
Update - Nov. 14, 2020.jpg
But I can't quite see the rest of the list of limited delivery areas under "Benfleet (SS7)" because there's a menu at the bottom of the page covering the lower part of that list. So rather than run another browser, I converted the web page to PDF printout and now I can see the full list as follows:
Royal Mail Deliveries
Due to resourcing issues, deliveries in the following areas are likely to be limited on Saturday 14 November.
The Customer Service Points at these offices will be open as usual - please see
royalmail.com/services-near-you for details of our revised opening hours. We apologise for any inconvenience
you may be caused.
  • Basildon (SS13, SS14, SS15, SS16)
  • Benfleet (SS7)
  • Halfway (S20 / S21)
  • Maidstone (ME14, ME15, ME16, ME17, ME18)
  • Stratford (E15, E20)

If people are testing positive, shouldn’t Royal Mail be
checking when that person was last at work, who they may have been in close contact with, and telling all those contacts to self-isolate, immediately?
Tinkering around with mandatory facemasks is akin to moving deckchairs on the Titanic, if known contacts of a confirmed positive case are allowed to come to work. In fact, the safest course of action in such circumstances would surely be to tell everyone in that entire office to self-isolate.
Oh, but it’s all about customer service and getting the mail out...

Should there be more than one confirmed case within any workplace ( in England ) then Public Health England - Health Protection Team must be contacted, and they will advise how to manage and contain the outbreak with the Local Authority. I’ve heard that Warrington Rail Terminal is one depot that are in the poo for not doing so recently.
Earlier in the year the media reported many factories around the country, especially food processors it seemed, where outbreaks were occurring. They often shut the premises for 2 weeks and tested the whole workforce.
I reckon managers are being very secretive about infections to try to avoid any involvement with Health Authorities, which of course will just put the workforce at greater risk. Wonder if anyone that can prove that a managers inaction caused others to be infected would be able to initiate proceedings to prosecute them under Health & Safety or Corporate Responsibly Laws ?

In a MC depending on a person's training, they could potentially have been in every work area at some point during a shift, does the same hold true for DOs and RDCs?

We have new recruits (agency) being shown around on a daily basis. They are taken to any area where they may be asked to work during their shifts (pretty much everywhere) so if any of them has the virus, they could potentially be a superspreader. Oh, but hey, they are wearing an invincibility shield, so we’re all safe ...

Polegate - 3 cases.
Office closed apparently.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Are you encouraged to get to a test centre or can you order a kit via post?

I managed to get a walk in test for my daughter within an hr time frame, much will depend on your area I guess, you can only try and see.
