Got this today.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Doesn't surprise me, half the folk in my office couldn't care less, don't wear masks, don't social distance. The other 25% wear masks sometimes, mostly over their neck, and don't social distance. Manager doesn't care, doesn't wear a mask.
And those of us that are higher risk, and bring it up, get threatened with assault (I'm not even kidding).
Only Royal Mail could make something as simple as wearing masks, and keeping your distance into yet another battle.

This is absolute madness what is happening in this country. People at home on furlough, the rich shielding. But keep the poor in work and the kids at school and we will stop the spread?
. Just look at all the threads on this forum of infected offices. Only a matter of time before we all get it.

It seems like many countries are slowly going back into lockdown. I was reading that Austria is going back into lockdown. It seems like the stricter the lockdown during the first wave, the harder a country has been hit in the second wave

Sweden has been hammered by a second wave far worse than its neighbours who had stricter lockdowns.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑15 Nov 2020, 08:45It seems like the stricter the lockdown during the first wave, the harder a country has been hit in the second wave

It's true loads of managers from East/North London there this week out on delivery, I don't know the number of cases but heard it's a lot, as far as it now being closed I don't know.

Re: 42 staff at Stratford delivery office have tested positive for covid 19, the office has been closed down
I can confirm this because I have a close friend who works there. The office was closed for a 'deep clean' in early November
. They are not too sure of the exact number of people who tested positive, but they say that 42 may be a bit on the conservative side.
Thankfully most are back at work, but there's work still piled up waiting to be delivered. They say that the mood of the staff there is rock bottom.
Apparantley Royal Mail could have nipped the entire s***show there in the bud when the first two positive tests came through just before Halloween, but they dug their heels in on a deep clean until nearly everyone bar less than a dozen out of an office of about 70 were self isolating!
*edit* I forgot to clarify that the office is the East London one. Whoops!

And even when they became discontented, their discontent led nowhere, because, being without general ideas, they could only focus it on petty specific grievances. The larger evils invariably escaped their notice.

What sort of % of the total number of staff would that be?nottadrone wrote: ↑03 Dec 2020, 16:21They are not too sure of the exact number of people who tested positive, but they say that 42 may be a bit on the conservative side.
Probably all forum members would have seen Stratford on TV at some point as it's where the London 2012 Olympic Stadium is located and it's a major transport hub. Re: 42 staff at Stratford delivery office have tested positive for covid 19, the office has been closed down
You'd be looking at about 42 delivery duties, 13 collection duties, and 6 CSS mail sequencing duties, plus rest day covers, reserves, and 3 managers. So that would be over 60% if my maths is correct.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑03 Dec 2020, 19:58What sort of % of the total number of staff would that be?nottadrone wrote: ↑03 Dec 2020, 16:21They are not too sure of the exact number of people who tested positive, but they say that 42 may be a bit on the conservative side.
