It is mandatory that is our position.
If people have exemptions we will support that but we will be looking for people to adhere to our requirements because after all it's our responsibility as the employer to keep them safe and their fellow colleagues safe.

If anybody believes for one minute that the rules for wandering into a shop are the same for working in a delivery office and they won't have to at least explain exactly why they can't wear a mask they're having a laugh.

I think its reasonable for a manager to be informed at least why. If not then they are accepting the risk of you working with others who wear masks. At least if they know they can make arrangements to provide a safe working environment for everyone. If you have a valid reason then fine. As for the anti mask people well its your choice but risk your own lives. Following other procedures might be enough for you but respect your other colleagues who want to do the most to protect their lives and their loved ones. Are you willing to accept that you might be the cause of someones death? Don't think so.

You know it's weird how many people who believe in Flat Earth, or other conspiracy theories, claim they are on the side of truth. Truth is not subjective, it's only true if you can provide objective evidence, opinions don't count where truth is concerned.

If anti maskers are wrong and Covid exists more will be infected and more will die.
If anti-maskers are right, then wearing a mask may impinge on our freedom but nothing will happen.

Logically wearing a mask when instructed to do so is the safest option even if you disagree with wearing them.

Just from a common sense point of view there's no way Royal Mail can allow 99% of an office to "claim" they have an exemption without any evidence and leave one guy in the middle of that wearing a mask at hugely increased risk.

They could be sued within an inch of their lives.

Yeah, but I feel better knowing I am doing my best to protect everyone and their loved ones rather than doing nothing at all. We are all responsible to keep everyone safe as best we can.
