Boxing Day 2020
Assuming you all normally work full time - 5 days a week ... then as long as you’re all working 7 days across the weeks commencing 21/12 and 28/12 and getting your full time wage then I don’t see what anyone’s problem is?
If you end up working 8 or 9 days that week due to how it lands with your days off then you should be getting that credited back. Is anyone being asked or expected to work 8 or 9 days across those two Xmas weeks?
If anyone ends up with the luxury of having to only work 6 days then that’s good luck to them and they shouldn’t have that time clawed back.

Boxing Day 2020
i've seen a few "non service days" i've gained in some and not in others and they always cause unrest,
what if you're on annual leave and it snows heavy so nobody goes out, do you demand the time added back?
it's just pot luck if you're on a rotation and just unlucky if it happens to be your day off anyway,
the only poor thing will be reserves who hardly ever get given a saturday off then on the final 1 of the year, here you go!
what the cwu could do is that reserves maintain the scheduled day off on the duty they are covering that week AND the week after

Boxing Day 2020
The way I see it is any working the Saturday will have gained a "freebie". Those with Saturday as their rotational day off will not have lost anything. The only people I see as losing out are the reserves who will be allocated the Saturday as the day off.rambo1 wrote:Another shocking example of why the Union are absolutely useless! Do they hope people being done out a day off just won't notice the guy working next to him or her is getting an extra day off to them that week? Do they really think we are that thick? Even if I weren't Saturday off that week I'd still be ranting about this as I would just want fairness and equality for my colleagues.Tunahowmad wrote:Saturday 26 December 2020 is officially a non service day as it was some years ago when Boxing Day was on a Saturday. You get Monday 28/12/20 as a bank holiday instead. As stated by others if you are due to work saturday you get your pay for that day but you get the day off.Not designated as a bank holiday so if you have saturday as your day off you do not get those hours added to your annual leave. CWU agreed as it was some years ago.
Is anyone from the cwu brave enough to answer this one?
This loss of a day compared to the other 4/5 of delivery staff is the equivalent of them getting a 0.4% pay rise and you not, as a full timer. And the Union think this is ok? Bull.

Well if you do you will get it back as a comp day if you have enough you could get a whole week off.Route1 wrote:The way I see it is any working the Saturday will have gained a "freebie". I could be wrong but I dont believe you would get a day in lieu (or anything) for the Saturday as its an in-service day. Monday 28th will be the Bank Holiday so anyone off on Monday will get whatever it is (day in lieu / cash / another day of in the week)k979aaa wrote:Well if you do you will get it back as a comp day if you have enough you could get a whole week off.Route1 wrote:The way I see it is any working the Saturday will have gained a "freebie". In the natural order of things if there's winners, there's losers. You say those not on Saturday day off are winners, therefore those that are on Saturday as day off, logically are losers ,no?Route1 wrote:The way I see it is any working the Saturday will have gained a "freebie".
