Not for the saturday as its not a service day. The Bank Holiday will be Monday so you should get the Monday credited to annual leave or get alternative day off during the following fortnight or get paid for it.

cwu are aware of it. Last time my days off fell on the saturday so i didnt get the extra benefit. Those scheduled to work saturday got an extra day off for free.
So why aren't the cwu doing anything about 1/6 of delivery staff being short changed 7 1/2 hrs or looking at it another way, being done out of £85!!
How about an alternative day off in the week leading up to Christmas, as everyone is getting Saturday off anyway. We should get another day off from Monday to Thursday.

I've seen the agreement somewhere. Pretty sure this goes back 14/15 years from what I remember.
I was Saturday off last time it happened, sometimes you just have to take it on the chin.

The Post Office have just got the Saturday off...
I am pleased to report that following exchanges of correspondence with Nick Read, Group CEO, it has been agreed that Saturday 26th December is once again designated a “Non-Service day” for Crown Offices. This means those members who would have been scheduled to work will have the day off and will not have to make up the hours.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Saturday 26 December 2020 is officially a non service day as it was some years ago when Boxing Day was on a Saturday. You get Monday 28/12/20 as a bank holiday instead. As stated by others if you are due to work saturday you get your pay for that day but you get the day off.Not designated as a bank holiday so if you have saturday as your day off you do not get those hours added to your annual leave. CWU agreed as it was some years ago.

Another shocking example of why the Union are absolutely useless! Do they hope people being done out a day off just won't notice the guy working next to him or her is getting an extra day off to them that week? Do they really think we are that thick? Even if I weren't Saturday off that week I'd still be ranting about this as I would just want fairness and equality for my colleagues.
Is anyone from the cwu brave enough to answer this one?
This loss of a day compared to the other 4/5 of delivery staff is the equivalent of them getting a 0.4% pay rise and you not, as a full timer. And the Union think this is ok? Bull.

This should be mantitory. Everyone who is sat off should get another day off that week like everyone else. The offices should be fully staffed still as no annual leave ban is still on up to xmas. Doms should sort this out.

I think that has happened in my Do before, everybody day off was changed to the Saturday so no one gained or lost. I think that year my day off was scheduled to be the Thursday ( Christmas Eve) and I was most upset at the time.......I was looking forward to having five days off at Christmas but lost out. You win some you lose some is the only way to look at it. I think that year everybody in delivery was supposed to have the same Day off (the non service day)

You can bet your life every office will be told to put every leave reserve as sat off that week. It'll save the company a lot of money. About £85 full time for each postie that can't claim the day back, but will have to work Mon to Thurs that week. Most are probably not aware of it and just think ace, I get Fri sat sun mon off. Yeah so does everyone else, except they got Mon or Tues or wed or Thurs off too, or if they're Friday off, they get the hrs paid or back as anual leave. Again. HOW CAN THE UNION SEE THIS TO BE FAIR AND RIGHT???
