Yet another dig at RMC .
RM would obviously prefer to have everything swept under the carpet , if they want to sack people for posting , go ahead & do it and see if it stands up in a ET . Sour grapes and RM blame culture .

there's worker's forums in other industries www.railchat.co.uk for the deliberately fragmented industry the guard's forums are vaguely/broadly similar to these threads. same style of banter & micky taking

Ryan Air have one for their pilots , many complaints of the amount of take-offs they've to do which is the most dangerous & stressful part of the job , O'Leary is one of those maverick, obnoxious captains of industry like Leighton .

I think there was a site called Ryan Air which had numerous customer complaints on it & Ryan Air tried to hve it stopped .

That's another arguement for doing the job properly & taking breaks , you're keeping ex RM & now Quadrant staff in work . Some are CWU members .

This is how I see it, if RM was a nice and wonderful place to work for, we would not have these internet postal forums. Us posties nationwide need PMC or any other internal postal forums to inform each other what is going off at RM nationwide. These internal postal forums have been brillant. I no longer feel that important information has been kept away from me from both RM and CWU.

PS.
Donation's in the post, via TNT. :d'oh! Only kiddin' :Very Happy

Well POSTMAN might get it before next Christmas via TNT ( as long as you done it via track and trace :hmmmm )

I come on here, cos as a part timer on a full time walk, I don't get much time to talk with colleagues - and we don't have much of a canteen anymore, since the Quadrant mooshty was sent packing back in April or May ( just before the statutory meal reliefs before going out on delivery....which have since been forgotton!  :so there )

I may be wrong but this site isn't just for Postal Workers. It's for management, customers and members of the public too. In fact I can go further, this site isn't just about delivery Postal Workers either. I feel what this site lacks is an unbiased, impartial view on the industry. After all, we all believed we were going to get a 'NO' vote with regards to pay deal, how misled we all were. Unfortunately, this site is becoming dominated by posters who forget this site is not just about them and thier views. I appreciate the information that is shared on this forum, however I am increasingly becoming weary of the fact that even more posters are becoming afraid to express thier views and opinions, for fear of abuse. Surely it is in the interest of us all to hear all the sides of any arguement. Even if it is just to prepare us for a 'Real World' confrontation on the subject.

Why was it closed?

I heard that it was closed due to the administrator not having enough time to run it?

Personally i suspect otherwise, any ideas??

postmansh*t debates one sided ?

Post by axeman »

yes rmc is for 'all' be they managers etc... but the most frequent posters are posties ? now pmc on the other hand was linked to r.m and had as such to toe the line. So if you dissagreed with admin's you as on hell's mail had your posts removed and altered on a frequency that kinda robbed the ethos of rational debate. Unles it was backslaping r.m's propaganda regime (the reason it's now closed) here you can have a debate but it's obvious that if you use r.m's bullshit then posties are going to reply with equaly strong comments as has been seen by posters from the now defunct pmc trying to extol r.m as the greatest employee ever

So would this not be considered the other side of the coin. I seem to see a lot of 'backslapping' on here too. As for equally strong reply, well that is fair enough. But, I would add that a lot of the time the abusive replies are not warrented. Please don't get me wrong here. I'm not a pro management, or whatever. I am simply trying to point out that, there is a lot of posters who do not debate, just look at practically any thread. I have read posts that have thrown abuse, from posties, at not management, but the public and customers. I certainly don't think RM is the best employer ever, and I understand why a lot of Postal Workers, myself included, are angry with them as an employer. I don't, however think that if we all just post what we want to hear and bully anyone who doesn't conform to our way of thinking, we have much of a forum/site.

I used to visit PMC on a regular basis and what i found on that site was managers posting blatant lies on a regular basis.

"you cant cut off your delivery"
"you are not allowed to take your meal break until you have completed your delivery"

etc etc etc!!

What was more disappointing was the fact that a number of the mods on that site seemed to condone this posting of misleading info!

Threads would go on for ever as some people seemed to think that if they said something enough times then people would believe it!!!

Josef Goebbels used to say something similar.....

Maybe that is the reason it was closed ( with the above lies you pointed out ) - if anything posted is treated like the printed word, then surely if work and H&S laws weren't being broken by those words, then there was definate incitement to do so. :Very Happy

Either way, free speech IS a complete myth. I could stand outside my neighbours house and call him all the names under the sun, but only if I accept there are consequences - and there always are. Courts can and do impel site owners to reveal identities of members and you also have to pay the £80 a year to the body responsible for the data protection act where that applies. Lot of sites have come unstuck on that one.

PJ... Wot do you mean UNBIAS??? FFS One of the Mods Said HE voted For the deal and Made his comments loud n clear... Now i dont agree with him but he had his say and he IS respected... ANOTHER MOD was a SCREW/MANAGER... And HE gets my upmost respect... Then There is a MOD who posts more than anyone... And sorts out most of the trouble and Trolls on here... With out these people this site wouldnt be wot it is.... Now i think your find,,,, The other dead Post sites had a far greater sway of people from RM and Pro management stance.... The And if anyone had the cheek to say ANYTHING that differed to the chief of them sites you were banned for life.... Now THOES SITES ARE BIAS AND IM GLAD AS MANY ARE, THAT THEY ARE CLOSED DOWN!!!! :cfo :lfo

Now the fact that US "Dominating posters" "Who forget this site isnt just about them and there views." ??????? :so there :speak to the hand :no no Make our points and YOU PERSONALLY DONT LIKE IT... Then this seems then your chance to comment on your points.... Make them like everybody else does.... Its all our choices to post or not!!!! Its just quite a few people Dont mind standing up and making there points heard... Now i myself dont mind any opinion against mine, but if i feel , like i do with MOST of your posts, That its ment to just sling mud or belittle my point then that is wrong, Or as many have came on and done... IE Armani.. Gaz 2000 And a couple more.. Just to cause a row and to shame this site with rubbish and just stir the shite. Then this is also wrong...

We all have points and w should all be able to have a differing opinion... Yes its a adult site and YES sometimes the language is INDUSTRIAL... (Nature of the job) And still we all have the choice to do what we want... As POSTMAN said.. "HE DONT DRAG US ON HERE." Its our choice........
If i think you talk bollox i will say so and if you think the same for me then say... Im big enough to take a few words off of a screen FFS...

Out

PS PJ dont try to MOD on here or slag the infrastructure on here as the Majority like it and Thats all that matters....

Just look at the numbers this site has pulled in in the last 3 months..... PMC and Shitefire couldnt hold a candle to this site....

WELL DONE POSTMAN AND JP, TBTS, ROCKY AND ME... Oopss Just the other four... Oh yehhh The old git on Old timers profile....

Yes this site is the other side of the coin but one that does not expouse the virtues of r.m propaganda. and makes no attempt to try to convince people with items that are not quite true even those that may well have been posted by individual posters but none the less agreed by the backslaping nature of the posters on it. the fact that it's now closed serves only to justify what i suspected for a while that it's sole intention was to undermine the union. i'd put nothing past the regime
