69 Cards Arrive On Time 25 Cards Arrive A Day Late 1 Card Arrives Two Days Late 5 Cards Are Stll Missing In Action

NEARLY one in three Christmas cards missed Royal Mail delivery targets, a Sunday Mail survey reveals.

We sent 100 cards from across the UK - 25 arrived late and five are still lost.

We posted them on Wednesday to an address in Falkirk from Aberdeen, Inverness, Dundee, Falkirk, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dumfries, Galashiels, Newcastle and London.

Royal Mail targets state that 93 per cent of First Class post should arrive the next day.

But only 69 of our cards made it by Thursday.

On Friday our postie delivered another 25 cards and one more arrived yesterday.

That left five cards missing - three sent from Dumfries, one from Glasgow and one from Newcastle.

Our study was conducted in the same week that Royal Mail chiefs in Aberdeen admitted thousands of last year's Christmas cards and letters had been dumped.

They were found in an area of the Aberdeen mail centre which has not been used for sorting since last Christmas.

Each post box used by the Sunday Mail displayed collection times between 5pm and 6pm on Wednesday.

One post box was less than two miles from the address to which the cards were being sent.

But only five of the ten posted from there arrived on Thursday with the other five arriving on Friday.

Only London performed worse with just one of the ten turning up on Thursday although the remaining nine were eventually delivered.

From Dumfries just seven of the ten arrived - three are still lost in the post. From Dundee one arrived on time and the rest a day later.

Edinburgh and Galashiels came out on top with all ten arriving the next day. Nine out of 10 arrived the next day from Newcastle, Inverness and Aberdeen and eight from Glasgow.

Mail watchdog Postwatch said: "This is a snapshot of what's happening. The chances are you are not going to get the service you pay for."

The Royal Mail said the 93 per cent next day target was suspended on Monday for the festive season. A spokesman added: "We do everything we can to deliver all items as quickly as possible."

It is the wonderful deregulation and market liberalisation of the postal market that this globalist scum bag of a rag has tirelessly supported over the last two decades that has now resulted in a postal system fit for the third world and now the scum have the nerve to complain about it.

It takes considerably more skill to sort post at Christmas time as letters and cards are often sent with an incomplete or poorly written address that the machines haven't got a hope of reading.

RM in their usual business saving approach only look at the volumes of mail and recruit the number of casuals appropriate to the volume of work with the extra time and skill needed to sort the cards not taken into account.

The net result is that cards are put to one side and allowed to pile up and are often just killed off to save time or get delivered to the wrong address.

The mail on Sunday are perfectly aware of all this and this is just more propaganda from the globalist media in their pursuit of the break up and privatisation of RM somehow blaming all of it's woes on the fact that it is still nationalised.

The people in this country have become apathetic to change for the worse. They have seen it happening everywhere and all they do is have a little moan, a cup of tea and then complain about how crap posties are nowadays rather than complain about the changes doled out to the posties.
