Our Dom said he has informed the area manager that there was no takers, he didnt even bother to ask if anyone was up for it.
Funny how offices are so different. I refused and was def in the minority. Most people at our gaff happy to van share, including people who had previously had covid or were off due to be being high-risk and told to shield.

If RM haven't got enough vans then isn't the only alternative to work afternoons, having to wait for a van to arrive back?
Yes, but child care issues will be taken into consideration. If he can't do it they have to consider that.
What alternatives would there be? Only two I can think of is the callers office (possibly with the same childcare issues) or being shipped off to the local MC

So what's the next great idea for Christmas in offices with no van share. Put us back up to 40 hours? Nothing would surprise me now.

not really been a thing at my D/O. It's completely voluntary. Speaking as a union rep, 9/10 people will agree and not doing it, because it's not just about protecting yourself, but your colleagues and the integrity of the mail etc, but you're never gonna convince the 10th.

Seriously, earlier on in the pandemic the people who have gone back to van sharing always said stuff about shielding/looking after the vulnerable etc. I can't force them to go out as a single postie but it does make you wonder where people's heads are at.

Nobody doing it at ours. In fact, not heard it mentioned since we had the initial talk about the reintroduction from our DOM a couple of weeks back. I’d like to think that is the end of it,but this is RM we are inabout here...they rarely walk away once they have a bee in their bonnet about something...
“Shorts,in this weather?!”

“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”

“What’s she been ordering now?”
