I can’t see why not.If Your not able to van share or take Your own van out and He can move You to an HCT duty that needs covering.

What can a non driver do? They cant drive the van thats been returned in the afternoon.

Pretty sure it will stay on a voluntary basis only. That way if someone contacts the virus and dies RM won't be liable!

That’s good! No more big parcels to deliver, van checks, helping or being helped by partner and an easier day I look forward to this as I will be refusing to van share

Yes totally agree the idiots in our office will be exactly the same they will love the fan sharing running around no mask windows right up probably eating and talking as they move the van just to avoid having a proper break so they can finish early!

Even with days off re-synced for duty holder drivers and passengers so they only work together, with dedicated pairings working together to cover days off, sickness and holidays will screw things up.

Recipe for another Royal Mail disaster.

Some of our reserves said they did not mind van sharing, but named a few posties they would not be prepared to jump back into a van with, mainly due to their personal hygiene.

Im not surprised.Saw one Office rusharound go for a sh1t today then flew out the toilets to get out early without washing His hands.Bloody disgusting

to be honest regardless if this is voluntary or not , the company have yet again just blanked the CWU and done what they want AGAIN , so you can only imagine what these talks are like about our dispute , and what are the CWU going to do about it ? , its about time we did summat to stop these taking the piss .

I prefer to work alone in the van. Its been a lot less stressful and I can go at my own pace than when being paired up.

I agree and I think most will however this is where things are getting confused. People saying they don’t want to van share because they prefer working on their own is not the discussion that is being had. I think some are hiding behind the virus to try and continue to wok on their own. Would love to see the daily habits of some who are saying they won’t van share.

Its not hard to hide behind to be fair

Its the worst moment RM could have chosen to reintroduce it

If they had attempted during a period where the cases were really low it'd be harder to argue against but even then you could argue its low because of distancing

It hasn't even started yet.
Nobody has even refused yet.
Already people are calling their colleagues liars.
