Dave Ward came down to sunny old Burslem today to update us on everything going on at a higher level and to offer support, which all the lads and lasses would like to say THANK YOU for. Hopefully RM will start to see sense and will can all have a happy christmas and the 12 will be back soon.
I see 'Burslem' features in the Careers section of the Royal Mail website today, "Fixed term temporary contract, Temporary for 12 weeks, 31.5 hours per week".
Does this suggest they expect the dispute there to continue for twelve weeks ?
And "a loud, busy environment" is how they describe all delivery offices, not just Burslem ! ! !

There are lies, damn lies and Royal Mail statistics
Of course the people who are against this strike will complain the loudest when they start closing Post Offices in the Burslem area and especially when they learn of the large bonuses that the upper management of POL will get for closing them. Royal Mail were notified as required by law of the ballot and of the strike but, as with National issues refused to compromise. Its as though all they understand about IR was written in the 70s and don't budge or compromise until there is a strike. Royal Mail all you have to do is have an independent review and the strike would be over but as you think your are right and everyone else is wrong you wont.

We had a visit from a senior royal mail management on friday. He was told he could stop this strike by having an independant inquiry,but i dont think they will as it will show what lying,scheming,two faced B******DS we have at as managers, they will do anything to get the union out of our office. They didnt bank on the true solidarity we have,keep the faith.l
No surprise. No one independant to look at the case but we were offered a manager from outside the area let me think about that one NAA!! a different RM manager doesn't sound all that independant to me.
Anyway thanks for all the support even L.TOMMO (I'm sure that I saw him shake hands with a Gooner) was down the picket line the last couple of days and various lads from Sheffield and Lee Barron, M.Kav,A.Plant and plenty of others. Again thanks to everyone and Merry Christmas
Stoke Socialist Party have now collected 5,400 signitures supporting the Reinstatement of Victimised Burslem Postal Workers. This demonstrates the massive support which exists for this fight for justice. The Sentinel has belatedly reported this fact and invited comments from readers. There has been some adverse comments from recent Sentinel articles so any comments showing support are most welcome.

Burslem posties into their third week of strike action have been told by Royal Mail bosses that their leave will be deducted from their entitlement.
This is another example of how RM bosses are continuing their attacks on Burslem postal workers. They are being aided and abetted by the distorted coverage of our local paper, the Sentinel.

The trouble is Tommymac is that we are being led by two numbnuts who have never built a business up in their lives, and have made their reputations through slash and burn, its easy to make profit when you see the workforce as an expendable commodity to make sure they hit their targets so they can get hundreds of thousands paid into their private pensions and their bonuses which are made off our backs, they arent bothered about how the company looks in 10 years time they are only here to make money for their own pockets in as short a time as they can...UNITY IS STRENGTH.
The trouble is fella the two numptys so called in charge of RM only care short term coz thats all they need to.. SLASH N BURN is the word and sell the family jewels at the same time... Thoes two couldnt even lead a horse to water let alone let it drink... Only they drink themselves...

The roar of us lions should be heard with the CWU as our mouth piece but the balls of the lions have been cut short with the PEC and Billy n Dave as ring masters...
