First postman goes off because a member of his family has caught the virus when he comes back he is just asked did you take the test he says yes. Nothing else done

Second Postman goes sick because of coronavirus symptoms when they come back they are told by the line manager that they must produce an official letter to say that they have taken the test. The postman produces the NHS result letter but is told they could lose pay because the date on the letter and the date they return to work is different and someone might think they were swinging the lead for at least 2 days
Can somebody explain to me in plain English why two postman from the same office are treated entirely differently

Maybe one is the office brown nose the other is disliked by the manager or the manager is incompetent are you sure the dates are the same ask him but the system says self isolate for 10 days positive and 14 days negative make of that what you will.

Got my results by text and Email. It was negative so went back to work following day. Why did they receive their results by a letter? My understanding is results are always sent by text and/or Email.

Did the second postman live on their own and did they test positive?

This is my take

If tested negative then straight back to work.

If other member of household has tested positive then must you isolate for 14 days and get tested if show any symptoms

Should you get tested positive ,isolate another 10 days or Get a sick note until fully recovered.

If the second postman tested positive they can get a sick note to cover absence from their GP
If tested negative then manager has a right to question why they had not returned the following day ?

You may have symptoms, get tested, negative result but why would you have to go straight back to work? You could still be unwell, yes?
