Colleague tested positive for covid.

Post by ballee »

2 colleagues have tested positive for covid. At least 8 other posties have been advised by app to self isolate. We only have 30 posties is this feasible.
Does this mean families must isolate as well and does the office need a deep clean, so far this has not happened.

Did you have interactions with the 1st case individual's ? Only you can gauge this question not even your own managers know this ? How where did you think he/she contracted it ? You only need to isolate if told to do so and deep clean more chance of a lottery win!

that seems extremely bizarre. So they won’t contact people that have been in direct close contact with? You can keep distance but with sorting we are touching the same things..?!

News today saying there will be £10,000 fines for breaking the self isolation rules.

How have they been told by app? Boris's "world beating app" isn't due to be launched until the 24th.

Plenty of PPE in office and gloves etc
Should be a safe working environment

Unless people are handling covid test samples, or have a habit of licking their fingers, gloves offer no protection. They would need to be changed every few minutes otherwise. There is almost a freakish sequence of events that need to happen for you to contract Covid-19 from touching something. Masks however are key to reducing transmission of the virus, along with social distancing in enclosed areas, such as DO's.
You only need to look at the story from Taiwan, where an infected person entered a Starbucks coffee shop. They infected over 20 other customers, but the 4 members of staff who kept their distance and were wearing masks were unaffected.

So the test is useless if you test negative you must still isolate for 14 day's if positive 10 day's so if a contact tracer tells you to self isolate you must do for the aforementioned periods so why get a test and possibly spread the infection as it dies after three days outside the body of living being. Do you not have to isolate the dog and cats as ones cat could pass it on to another cat while it is socializing! I tell you now if we never had the perverted science of fools who claim to be experts in everything we would have more common sense!

Only covid-friendly workplaces are open, so no need for colleagues to isolate or be informed.

Social distancing will go right out the window during Xmas pressure as we'll have all the outward setups to squeeze in, in addition to all the normal setups and we'll probably have double the staff once all the Xmas casuals start

Were they not talking about opening extra outhouses this year?
