Isolation if schools close or children are sent home

Is anybody able to shed some light on the position parents could be in if children are sent home from school due to school bubbles, year groups or whole schools being closed due to to positive case(/s) (effectively track and trace).

My questions specifically are :

Does the parent in contact with the child have to self isolate for 14 days alongside their child ?
What is the situation if so, in regards to pay at Royal Mail ?

You only need to isolate if your child has a positive test or is showing symptoms.
In that case it will be paid.

Anything else is annual leave or unpaid.

It just strikes me a bit strange that if you are notified by track and trace you have to isolate for 14 days. But if your child is isolated and then you are in contact with your child, you aren't included as part of that trace contact remit. It seems to contradict the purpose of track and trace.

I'm not arguing mind. I hope if my child is sent home (without a positive test) that I would not have to isolate. I have no annual leave left and couldn't afford unpaid leave.
It just seems contradictory (nothing new there of course).
