Just wondering if anyone got any tips to keep certain items dry?
Would probably help if my bags had clips on them
Forget it, Pete. Keeping mail dry when on one of Royal Fail's monster deliveries, is a battle you'll never win. I ran up the white flag on that one in 2003.

We have a yellow insert to protect the bundles and packets inside your pouch, and I use a heavy duty black bin bag for the outside pocket. Other than that nope no t a chance it gets wet and perhaps those that use cheap envelopes that fall apart after 1 rain drop will see the benefit of using more substantially made ones.

delivering paper mache can be quite theraputic as you can make all sorts of funny shapes etc to try and push thru letterboxs and then the look you get from some people when you have delivered it,then they have the cheek to complain about their mail being soaked after you have stood outside the door waiting for them to get their lazy asses of their seats with the rain dripping of you.
Wen I worked in the callers office a toffee nosed pair came in with a couple of envelopes which were a bit wet but by no means papier mache - lady shoved them under the grill and said - "These are wet" and I said - "So was your Postman" - that was yet another complaint against me.
Your last few letters you hold in your hand always are the worst....I use a UNOPENED copy of my 'Courier 'mag or the CWU mag at the bottom of my bundle of mail ..This seems to stop the last few letters in you bundle falling apart.

You should have said come back tomorrow im sure they will be dry then.
Funny how customer like to complain about stuff that we can't control ie the weather. I had an old lass came out shouting at me because her letters was wet and i was dripping on her packet. She ask to speak to whoever was in and to have the person who fault it was punished. So I pointed to the nearest church and told her that if she wants to complain about the weather then see the nearest priest who would then take it up with him upstairs. I never did hear from her again, strange. The worst of it is you get sarky comments or daft questions, like 'Is it raining?' Or my personal favourite 'Why are you and my mail wet?' To which i always reply that I want to take part in a wet t-shirt competition*L* blooming customers
