Seniority

If I have 9 years broken service but was in my DO before some one with say 7 years continuous service and my pay number is lower than their pay no. Am I more senior to them ??

A guy left Royal Mail some years ago for over a year. He then returned back to the same office and has his original pay number but he lost his seniority however i was told he would still have his total service combined for holiday entitlement but not seniority for picking a duty. We have a seniority list and hes below his previous workmates

Holiday entitlement is based on all service within Royal Mail.
This is simply the number of holidays you're entitled to and not to be confused with holiday allocation which shouldn't involve seniority but does in some offices.

Seniority for the purposes of a repick is based on continuous unbroken service.

In some exceptional circumstances a short break in service may be disregarded for seniority purposes but this is very rare and only usually done on compassionate grounds.

Why would you leave the job and then expect to come back in and suit on some new starters. Jog on and think yourself lucky that your holiday and pay will be higher.
