Yes or no?
Have a look what RM say on their own website which customers see:

https://www.royalmail.com/sending/uk/sp ... anteed-9am" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It does say 'Due to increased absence levels....' so perhaps your local management have decided that
local absence levels are at such a level that they can honour the 9am/1pm guarantees. Who knows, RM management at its best.....
Many thanks.

So locally if we fail a special we get conduct coded.
Shambles!
Any employment tribunal if you can afford it would find in your favour as the clear distinctions of the product and the actuality and the lack of clear guidance and a failure in communication which is rampant in Royal Mail

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Still 9pm - and they finally seemed to have stopped the message on the PDA to remind us its 1pm, it always comes up when you are trying to use the keyboard!

back to normal now isn't it?
We've been delivering them by 1pm for a couple of weeks now. Can't get ant sense out of the reps so do it or get conduct coded! I suspect the managers want their Xmas bonus!

So why would a manager insist on 1pm? Bonus? If they can't fail why would he care about it!!

But wallan, despite what the Royal Mail Service Updates show, some delivery offices have gone back to the regular Special Delivery deadlines (1:00 p.m. by 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. by 9:00 a.m.).

Our office reverted back to the normal Special Delivery Guaranteed Times a few weeks ago. All the delivery line managers remind us of the normal Special Delivery deadlines every morning when we prep.

What's confusing is that the information for customers on Royal Mail's website continues to show the "increased absence level" message. :nervous

There you go!!
Why don't the CWU tell us this! Arguing with a manager because we thought we were right when in fact we weren't!!

Maybe the person maintaining the site was one of the 2000 jobs that went
