Thats what i meant mate, no one at Amazon,Argos or any where else in the working place is remotely happy, why should we be any different?!aiden01 wrote:You reckon amazon is a better place to work than rm nit according to alot of press reports about them2yearpostie wrote:Im just really annoyed with people saying the job is rubbish, this is wrong, that is wrong etc. Find me a job where someone without any formal qualifications can earn over a tenner an hour and have sick pay, holiday pay etc etc,and enjoy what they are doing.Sir Henry wrote:You got all that from my comment?
After you with the glue bag
NO job is perfect, Every boss in the country want staff to do as much as possible, or at the very least work every hour that they get paid for.
Go and spend a week at Argos or Amazon and see how happy the staff they have are. Yes i know we should be aiming to 'be better' than them but to achieve that you need a successful profitable business to begin with.

How many posties would bother to use one if they had one available? There's probably very few that use the LWT even though their supposed toP13 wrote:There should be a sack trolley in your officepanzer4 wrote:I had a parcel on my rural round 26.2kg printed on side asked DOM about it replied TOUGHSpacePhoenix wrote:Nope, still 30KgJanet Brum wrote:It`s 20 kg now, what`s over belongs to Parcel Force.

Very true, there are some rounds in my office that are way over on time already! There will be NO time for these collections, none at all.toonshola wrote:So a maximum of 5 pick ups a day. Doesn’t sound much but by the time you have faffed on walking round back gardens to collect out a shed this could maybe add 20/30 mins to a delivery. Where the hell is this time coming from exactly? It’s disgraceful how the CWU have just randomly agreed to this without asking for delivery’s to be re-planned to account for the time taken.
Oh and as someone has already mentioned this will only add more work to the drivers which is unfair.

I’m 22 years in and fully agree with you. The high street is dead, let make the most of the extra business and grow2yearpostie wrote:Why am i an idiot for telling the truth of how it is going to be? Ive already had punters try to palm off their returns onto me. Usually it's just sky boxes etc but one woman was insistent I was supposed to fit 2 quilts into my already full HCT

If the collections become popular enough it might reach the point where it's financially viable to have a dedicated duty in each office for them, doing normal deliveries to use up any unused time

Interesting that nobody has mentioned lapsing on this topic, so since the last revision we've had collections, deliver to neighbour, a massive increase in tracked items, 2d barcodes, lapsing and now where expected to pick packets up, so whats next reading meters and delivering milk, I personally can't do more than do now drivers are being abused already they have all the responsiblity with no extra pay.

Agree with the time factor & workload. If it was normal times then i'd be claiming extended everyday but tue.
But we've not had lapsing, mail volume down, d2ds down, parcels only slightly more than normal now. On my duty we've only claimed the o/t on the last two thursdays. Havent done lapsing since March as Mr Union Man told the dom to stick it up his a$$£ due to social distance, walking to start points etc.
At the end of the day its simple, cut off or extend. I understand the bully etc as I've seen it displayed in a discreet way. This is where you shouldnt let it get to you. Ask them what u've to leave in / bring back incase you dont have time. Its going to be constant daily "disagreement" but it needs to be done. Rushing around trying to get it all done isnt the way either.

The interesting thing is 5 collections on our duty but what about your lapsing? You could in theory have a further 5, unlikely but possiblebishopoflove wrote:Interesting that nobody has mentioned lapsing on this topic, so since the last revision we've had collections, deliver to neighbour, a massive increase in tracked items, 2d barcodes, lapsing and now where expected to pick packets up, so whats next reading meters and delivering milk, I personally can't do more than do now drivers are being abused already they have all the responsiblity with no extra pay.

The person who does the specials and boxes on the lapse will have to do the collections I would say.Joe B wrote:The interesting thing is 5 collections on our duty but what about your lapsing?
