done shopping, will have lunch, go to gym and back home by 2.30 when my shift will end. something got to happen can't go on like this. End up doing double rounds or few loops of another walk

Just do parcels on Saturday .60 per cent staff then double letters on Monday.

I think that's the way it will go

Mon-Fri - Letters

Mon-Sat - Parcels

The trouble with it will be the job losses it causes

There has to have been a shift taken out of the mail centres. I reckon stuff sorted on overtime Saturday or Sunday has been scrapped, and it's done Monday as all our screwfix type stuff that used to come every Monday now rocks up on a Tuesday.

Mine was okay as I had double mail having been moved Saturday, but one guy showed me his who had seven letters for an entire loop of around 60 houses. Ridiculous.

5 day week for letters is 100% coming imo

The writing was on the wall when Terry Pullinger went from defend the USO to conceding that it'd have to be looked at and be sustainable
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Royal Mail have already trialed their plans.

Mon-Fri letters
Saturday parcels only with 50% staff

Yep agreed. Just a matter of time now, sometime in the next 12 months would be my guess.

Does your rep believe Elvis is till alive? Or the moon landings are a hoax?
Where is the mail, because it isn't reappearing on any other day?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Absolutely. We have already seen the future. Doubt they would risk trying to implement it this side of Xmas though.

Why's Monday been so quiet since Covid mate?

I don't think it's "engineered". But what's feckin causing it???

Can't be a weekend issue in MC's coz, like you say, it's not re- appearing later.

I think the DSA mail theory is the closest? Maybe a lot of it used to drop into the system at weekends, and it's now dropped off a cliff?
