Walker getting more money while using a car

I think there will be big consequences for those who agreed to use cars. They might view it as a voluntary short term thing which sees them finishing early, I do wonder if it will be expected of them in future.
And I suppose the ones working from home will be expected to do that forever and the ones swapping duties and walking out miles at a time or jumping on buses will be expected to keep doing that? The paperwork signed before using your car stated it was a temporary arrangement that could be stopped by either party at anytime. A few in my office have decided not to use cars anymore, what happened? They stopped using their cars

And why would someone who goes out in their car finish before the van driver unless the van driver is total mug

You could potentially get a bollocking for van sharing, as seeing the two PDAs very close together it'll look like you might be van sharing

Or just maybe someone earning over £30000 a year can work out the driver is bringing back the PDA for the person who went out in their car

Just to clarify...it’s not me doing it nor do I use my car. I’m more surprised the driver is happy doing an extra hour at the end doing all the large parcels while his van partner is sat at home with his feet up. But then that’s what happens when loops are badly setup and there’s not much difference between the walking and driving loop, there’s one round here where the driver consistently has longer walking loops, then has all the oversized too.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Whether we're van sharing or not the duties are not designed to leave all the large parcels to the end so why would they not be done during the loops meaning both finish at the same time?

We constantly reassess our loops on a daily basis so that the driver has time to do the oversized parcels and the loops are relatively even, it's not always perfect but it works most of the time. Why wouldn't you?

I agree with this, when people started using their cars it was to "help out" and they gained a bit in return. Now it's the norm and they expect people to carry on using cars but do lapsing and all sorts of stuff as if it's a normal time for the business. Anyone using their cars needs to make it clear they are helping out and expect something in return or it stops, and that means their partner in the van should be able to go home whatever time they finish so it doesn't cause animosity between the duty partners

Once presented with the data he would have to do some more work in order to ensure the OPG has sufficient work to fill his contracted hours. Can't see him bothering to do that. Far easier to just stay on his fat hairy arse.
our last manager was a woman.....but she still had a fat hairy arse.
