It's not with the union's backing.
It might be with your rep's backing but that means nothing.

Not surprised to hear this in the slightest. Part timers are always the first to be screwed over in this business and the union are just as culpable in allowing this to happen as Royal Mail are. Honestly think there should be a separate union for us part timers as the CWU couldn’t care less about us.

How did I know it would be this poster with yet another work of fiction?2yearpostie wrote:Has your delivery office got a shortage of vans? If so, with the unions backing part timers are to be given the following choice, use your own car on delivery or work afternoons. I think this is disgraceful.

I’m FT,so even if your latest fantasy is true (which it won’t be) it won’t really affect me anyway. Just don’t understand why you constantly feel the need to post nonsense on here,to get peoples backs up. Ok. Let’s presume there’s some truth in it. Why were you privy to a phone call between the rep & area manager? This is big news that could cause a lot of upset to PTs who have afternoon commitments. Not the sort of information that should be given out to anyone on a whim2yearpostie wrote:just posting what ive heard from my office, as its a discussion forum i thought that was the point?Cedar_Room wrote:I’m FT,so even if your latest fantasy is true (which it won’t be) it won’t really affect me anyway. Done well to land a work place coach role with only 2yrs service. Some people might say you’re still learning the job yourself.
PS - posting tittle tattle you overhear from the managers office on a message board is probably not the way to go if you want to retain your WPC title
PPS - I still don’t believe you

Its hardly rocket science, 'heres a letter, match it to the address on the street and pop it through the hole in the door, Hers a tracked parcel scan the barcode so you hear a beep, put it by the customers door and knock/ring bell, if they answer say thank you and wave, if they dont write a red card out with the details filled in pop it through the hole in the door and bring the parcel back to the office with you' How we get paid a tenner an hour for that still mystify's me.Cedar_Room wrote: Some people might say you’re still learning the job yourself.
