So you still have to remove the key from the ignition,
A while back I got out of a van to deliver a parcel and the engine cut out because of the stop-start kicking in. I left the key in the ignition(wrongly I know) and the engine automatically restarted while I was on standing the doorstep waiting for the customer to answer the door.

It was in a quite cul-de-sac and nothing came of it, but it scared the crap out of me. A lesson learned!
They start up the engine if the battery needs charging.

But isn't the drivers seat belt supposed to be fastened too. And doesn't the start-stop automatically switch off when you open the drivers door?

The issue lies in the winter, what if we do want to take a 5 or 10 minute break in the van? We're expected to sit there freezing cold and pissed wet through with the engine turned off and all the windows steaming up?
Its not an issue its an excuse.
Can you expand on that brief and meaningless comment please?

It takes more fuel turning an engine on and off. Doms/linos= tosspots, or maybe coffepots as that's what most seem to do. There is a big localised push for DWP to take back RM as the main poster instead of just first class. Why don't they send salespeople to these meetings instead of people who bully and talk utter shite, just like our managers, who mostly are graduates also.

Effectively yes as it is monitoring everything else.
I don't think the campaign against engine Idling is about money and it certainly isn't about the environment.
It is about security of the mail and preventing vans rolling away.
