What do Royal mail make a year from d2d

Wonder if it is over £365 million a year

Good point. We've not had half the number of d2ds we usually have over the last few months.

£3 million revenue per day from d2d is not the same as £3million profit.

I'm still far from convinced that the figures stack up from D2D's especially now with the reduced call rates from the fall in letters.

I spent an hour yesterday prepping 4 lots into the frame and I'll probably spend another hour over the course of the week delivering D2D's to addresses that haven't had any 'live' mail.

So that's 2 hours or roughly £25 that RM have to pay me just for dealing with D2D's.

Is that really the best and most profitable use of me and my time as a resource? Or could RM have made more money if I had spent that 2 hours delivering pkts and parcels?

The ''rule'' in our office is all D2D's have to be prepped in by tuesday, most including me do them all on Monday.

The national standard on D2D prep changed on April 1st and as far as I'm aware, but I could be wrong, it has not changed...

All D2D are supposed to be prepped into the frame on Monday before delivery and then delivered without cold calling, even if that means leaving some in the frame for following weeks.

However, even while Mondays have got quieter in recent weeks, very few OPGs in my depot ever changed to this standard.

impossible to do due to time constraints. 3 sets for example on the 2 duties i prep would mean prepping in almost 6000 D2Ds. who the hell has got time to do that?

I doubt many offices have followed this practice to the letter and many have reverted to their pre-covid process for D2D. I've not seen/heard anything to say RM have cancelled this process either.
